I'd take Eriksens goals and assists over Modric assists all day long.
Modric was great and is a fantastic player but for an out and out attacking midfielder he doesn't score enough goals for me.
Each to his own though.

Modric isn't an attacking midfielder though, they're non comparable anyway.

Christian Eriksen is the best midfielder I've seen at the club since the Hoddle - Waddle days .

As an aside , against Brazil I thought England were missing a midfielder who combined playmaking skills and physicality like Anders Iniesta and Marc Van Bommell .

Harry Winks could be the answer for England - but he will need to muscle up first .
Were you asleep when Gascoine played?

Kapoppycock.
They're different types and have different attributes but they are both attacking midfielders.
They play in midfield, and attack.
Comparing them to Dier or Wanyama would be non comparable.

Modric isn't an attacking midfielder, he's a regista or a deep lying playmaker. He's never ever been an AMF which is why you generally don't seem him roam about in the last 3rd of the pitch. Compare him to players like Pirlo, Gudogan, Xavi, Xabi Alonso etc...Just because he takes up the same positions as Dier and Wanyama it doesn't mean they all have the same remit.

This is a stretch.
Modric has played at the elite level for several years
and is one of the best midfielders in the world.
With several more years experience for Spurs and England
I fully expect Winks to approach this level
but he ain't there yet Shirley

Ah I see.
Got it.
Sorry.
Same answer though with less emphasis Shirley

........ you can't be serious! :p

Eriksen is not on Modric's level. I don't understand anyone thinking otherwise. He's improved again since leaving us. Modric's has been for the last few years in the conversation of who is the best midfielder in the world. My Arsenal mates see him as the best midfielder in the world. Eriksen is not in that conversation.

Anyone buying Eriksen is looking at potential still and whilst I would hate to see him leave, he is not irreplaceable. For example if we were able to get Dyabla and Rakatic for the price of Eriksen (only if he wanted to go) I would be ok with that. If he didn't want to go I would not be.
