Football isn’t about transfers, your so overly obsessed it’s unhealthy. I swear you guys learn nothing. If here was nobody worth getting I’d rather sign nobody going buy our past attempts at signing filler.

How else do you think we improve? Are we the only club that has players that are able to get better with age?

It is absolute arrogance from the board to not invest. If we get off to a slow start this season, the atmosphere is going to be fucking toxic because there will be a clear scapegoat for it all - and it’s the chrome dome gnome.

Ahhh, Grayson's annual sack the board thread.

I’m actually past caring now - wasting my time.

What the owners need to realise is that we are a FOOTBALL club and decisions should be based on that. Levy puts £ first, not most of the time but ALL the time.

I didn’t renew ST from Wembley as I thought prices were a joke. What a great decision.

I’m out - with my wallet with me.

All we hear is "It's a difficult market" blah blah blah.

The market is not going to change anytime soon and unless the plan is to never sign a player ever again we will have to partake in it.

It's a bullshit excuse not to spend money.

I actually think fair play Levy if that’s how he wants to play it – it’s his risk.

What I can’t stand are the BSoDL in here who are obsessed with the financials to the point that they are:
  • Happy for stadium delays as long as the NFL game goes ahead as don’t want to piss off a key partner
  • Bite Man U’s hand off for £60m for Toby with no Martial the other way
  • Think ST prices are fair due to supply and demand
Christ – I swear some people would be ok with changing our shirts to red and moving to Dubai if the financials stacked up. The business side is important but football is more than a business. Wish some people would piss off and go support Apple or Amazon.

Well let’s see how good a start we get off to then? It’s very difficult for us to improve on are starting 11, there are very few I mean very few signings PL clubs have made that I think, damn, they would really improve us. You can choose you own opinion I respect that, but I would rather sign no one than more Sissokos or Jannsens. I’m glad the window is closed, back to the game in hand this weekend, I can’t fucking wait.

The line about there are very few players that can improve our 1st XI is fake news

A team can and should always be improved on and kept fresh. Keeps everyone on their toes, if nothing else

To not make 1 signing is actually shocking and gives so many of our rivals a chance to get closer to us, at the very least

We will undoubtedly have a slow start. God help us If we dont pick up once our "XI'' is fit and up to speed

I actually think Poch has pretty much written off the beginning of this season and has pencilled in Sept 15 to kick start our charge

No summer signing, the first time since 1974.

We got relegated in 76.......

I didn't have you in mind at all - didn't mean to direct at any individual so sorry if you took it that way. It was aimed at bean counters in general.

Danny & ENIC have done great with the infrastructure of the club & moderately well in helping Poch build a squad, but the time to really build is when your doing well & they've really failed to do that. If they're not prepared to really push then it's time for them to sell or we'll end up in a situation where more of our players will want to leave to join clubs that want to challenge for trophies & we'll become like Everton & WHam having to spend big just to try & get a decent squad.

This has always been the business model of ENIC.

@absolute bobbins I saw your condescending post in the ITK thread about buying a ticket not giving you a stake in the club. Do you know what a stakeholder is? Genuine question, because as a business owner, you should know that customers are one of the key stakeholders. We might not all own shares in the club, but a stake? Absolutely.

So either you don’t know what a stakeholder is, or you made a typo? Here’s a simple little graph I found online that might be helpful in the future.

Sorry, when I referred to stake mean equity stake, therefore someone that the club is actually has to talk to but thanks for the GCSE business studies chart.

As a customer you have the simple choice to buy the product or not. In this instance if you choose to buy a season ticket, you choose to pay to watch Spurs matches in ‘your’ seat at a price that you have decided is worth paying. if you’re able to sit there and watch football then Spurs have fulfilled their side of the bargain and do not have to do anything else, they don’t even have to guarantee a level of football.

Now that’s not to say that they shouldn’t or won’t engage with customers and fans but as long as you get your seat and see those games the club don’t have to do a thing.

Oh and congrats on being allowed back in to the ITK thread, it's good to see you're making up for lost time. (y)

Off the top of my head...

Jorginho, Keita, Kovacic, Fabinho, Toreira, Fred, Mahrez, André Gomes (maybe), Meyer (another maybe), Seri, Maddison, Arzani (seems to have gone under the radar, but he’s a talent), Lee Grant and I think wham have done really well to get Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson.

All players that would have offered something to the squad, obviously we can’t always compete for these players, but it shows that improving on third place isn’t impossible. If Levy sells Toby or Rose abroad now, he is going to put a massive target on his own back if we don’t perform.

I don’t think we’ll ever win something of significance (PL or CL) until we have someone in place to negotiate our transfers without letting his ego and penny pinching get in the way.

10 years ago, if we built this squad up back then we’d be on our way... but the money other clubs have at their disposal is too much.
