I mean it’s not like we’re going to be paying more for the same thing though is it? The new stadium is almost an entirely different product we’re getting.

True but with all said and done, the product on the pitch is what counts. I bought two premium ST's in the new stadium but to be honest I won't care about the cheese room and the Michel Roux fine dining experience if the football results aren't great.

If Pochettino doesn’t want the players we could get should we just sign them anyway?
i think a certain amount of pragmatism is needed from either the board or the manager or both whereby they say, ok lot of players involved in the wc later stages, a few injury concerns we need some depth.

Usmanov has just bagged £600m from selling his Gooner share to Kroneke.. If he's still got an appetite for football, he might look at us as an attractive proposition for him to invest his dodgy oil money.

Then why we would be looking to get them, if he didn't want them in the first place? Rather strange comment

I mean, Mike Ashley is a spurs fan.. and Newcastle signed a few players.

if we had sold Toby, and spent the money on an equivalent replacement, and had done the same with Dembele, everyone would be fucking delighted. But we would be no better, and dealing with unknown qualities.

Perhaps going into a new stadium with a settled (top top drawer) side isnt the end of the world considering.

I am nonplussed. My fingers were always crossed more for a lack of outgoings than the desire for incomings.

I think the one who in 6 months time (if that) we'll be saying why didn't we get him is Seri at Fulham. Just one signing would have been great.

Sorry, when I referred to stake mean equity stake, therefore someone that the club is actually has to talk to but thanks for the GCSE business studies chart.

As a customer you have the simple choice to buy the product or not. In this instance if you choose to buy a season ticket, you choose to pay to watch Spurs matches in ‘your’ seat at a price that you have decided is worth paying. if you’re able to sit there and watch football then Spurs have fulfilled their side of the bargain and do not have to do anything else, they don’t even have to guarantee a level of football.

Now that’s not to say that they shouldn’t or won’t engage with customers and fans but as long as you get your seat and see those games the club don’t have to do a thing.

Oh and congrats on being allowed back in to the ITK thread, it's good to see you're making up for lost time. (y)

If you’d have said equity stake I wouldn’t have had to come down on you so hard with my A* in GCSE Business.

I wasn’t granted access back - I viewed it logged out. I’ll never be allowed back in after daring to insinuate that it was foolhardy to be identifying targets so late in the window.

The point I am making is Spurs could have signed Gomes from Barcelona or anyone West Ham have got or a shit ton of other dross teams' have signed.

This thread wouldn’t be here, Levy wouldn’t be taking heat but Pochettino might be absolutely gutted.

He might actually trust the squad we have and the young players coming through.

Isn't the product the football??

Has that been improved??

Do proper supporters really give a shit about the stadium in comparison to what they are watching on the pitch??
I do give a shit about the stadium, because I love the club, and I want its future guaranteed for the next 100 years, not just the next season or two.

Once you get over the fact that ENIC or Joe Lewis is not a sugar daddy owner - and we've all had almost 20 years to get used to that - we all knew that the move to a new stadium wouldn't be without bumps and sacrifices. Anyone who didn't think that's the case was deluding themselves.

I don’t think we’ll ever win something of significance (PL or CL) until we have someone in place to negotiate our transfers without letting his ego and penny pinching get in the way.

10 years ago, if we built this squad up back then we’d be on our way... but the money other clubs have at their disposal is too much.
A better negotiator won't mean shit when we're still missing a sugar daddy like all the clubs we are competing with.

As good as our current owners have been they are only interested in growing the brand to maximise profit.no interest in trophies or glory.not convinced they are prepared to invest, the stadium doesnt count as they know they wont lose money on that long term.

I get your gist but it was disgraceful the ground had been left in such a state for so many years once money started to come back into the game

I'd much rather we'd have redeveloped WHL and have an amazing team on the pitch rather that an amazing stadium and a decent team potentially in a couple of years

We've got lucky with Poch and even luckier with Kane, they needed backing

Joseph C. Lewis (born 5 February 1937) is a British businessman and investor, who currently lives in New Providence in the Bahamas. Lewis' total wealth is estimated at $US5 billion, and he is listed as the 388th richest person in Forbes' 2018 list of billionaires.

Yeah, he's proven a real fucking sugar daddy throughout the years hasn't he with his massive transfer outlay?

Apparently you associated sugar daddy with rich owner. I did not, I meant rich owner willing to spend his own wonga on transfers.

Virtually all PL clubs are owned by multi bilionaires though...he means sugar daddy in the sense that the club is not seen as an investment, more of a plaything.

All I'd say is look at the owner of the other 19 PL clubs. Heck, add in the 24 Championship clubs too. Which of them do you think run their clubs better than we do, and would do a better job here with our resources if they replaced ENIC/Levy? If the answer is "none of them", then logic dictates our next owner won't be as good as ENIC, either.
