Having just arrived at the office, in somewhat of a bad state after having drowned my sorrows last night. A colleague has said chin up mate, Levy was on the radio this morning saying Harry won’t go...

Did anyone else hear this, is it true? Has Levy really got balls of steel..??

Any info would be much appreciated - even if it does ruin my day...

 Please stay Harry, PLEASE!

Think he may have meant this and it was Sir Keith Mills not Levy:
Harry Redknapp will have to decide Spurs future, says Tottenham director

Tottenham director Sir Keith Mills says it is up to Harry Redknapp to decide whether he stays at Spurs if he is offered the England manager's job.
Redknapp is tipped by many to replace Fabio Capello as England boss after the Italian resigned on Wednesday.
"Harry needs to make a decision whether he'd like the job or to stay at Tottenham," Mills told BBC Radio 4.
"I'm sure Harry won't be the only candidate. Whether Harry's approached or not is not a forgone conclusion."

Thanks for the info codspur. I'm off to punch my colleague on the noise for raising my hopes...

I'll probably spend the rest of the morning crying in the toilet...

Some more of Sir Keith Mills' interview

Harry Redknapp taking the England manager's job on a part-time basis would "not be ideal", Tottenham non-executive director Sir Keith Mills has told Radio Four's Today programme.

He said: "That would not be an ideal scenario because a football manager needs to focus on the job in hand.

"Harry will be focused on the Newcastle game this Saturday. Managers and players are very single-minded people and two jobs would be quite a stretch for anyone."

"He has a long-term contract at the club and we would very much like him to stay. The board and the supporters have been very supportive of Harry throughout his trial, the fans were chanting his name at Wigan and it was very emotional."

And in other news, brasil_spur says "Harry will have to decide what shoes to put on this morning, it really isn't up to the fans of Levy to tell him what to do, it's his choice at the end of the day, although Sandra may have some input and Rosie may have chewed a few to limit his options"

State the bleeding obvious there Sir Keith Mills.

Reading between the lines, and assuming Mills has spoken to Levy, I'd say he's pointing out that Harry needs to make a decision and quickly. If he wants to go to England let's get it done now and move on (not sure to what but that's another issue). If he doesn't lets get him in front of the press saying that.

I very much doubt that anyone at Spurs wants this hanging over the club for the next few months.

I think that this was just a holding statement
until the smoke clears from the battlefield.
Designed to cover all the ground without actually saying anything that could be taken down and used in evidence.
No hostages to fortune in other words.

"He has a long-term contract at the club" Would 18 months be considered long term or does he have a longer contract i wonder

Harry has said his focus is at Tottenham and that is the only thing on his mind at the moment...

Harry hasn't actually been approached yet though, has he?

No, The FA are drawing up the shortlist tomorrow

1. H Redknapp

well that was quick, now where is DL's phone number.

could expect a call tomorrow, but more likely this will fester away unresolved until Monday before we see what action the FA are going to take...

Why so glum, OP? I can offer you a cast-iron promise that Harry won't be leaving until the summer and we'll get Mourinho in. And contrary to popular belief (that means you Adrian fuckhead Durham) Jose is more than capable of setting us up to play the 'Tottenham way.' Be Happy.

Firstly, there is absolutely no point in Harry leaving until the Summer.
Pearce will take over for the Dutch friendly which only leaves 2 friendlies at the end of May/start of June before the euros.

Does anyone really believe that Harry would walk away from, possibly, his best ever Prem finish to sit at home doing nothing for 3 months when the season ends in mid May?

If he takes the job he'll start on the 14th of May as this would give him the best of both worlds.

Yup, I think Harry takes this job in the summer, having secured CL for us. He goes out on a high, and we line up someone who can keep the momentum and organize us for the next level, someone with experience winning leagues, the CL, etc. Someone who is looking for a job, someone like ... Fabio Capello!
