He refused to accept responsibility on behalf of the board for the botched attempt to woo Ramos. "I absolutely don't accept that there is a cause-and-effect link between rumours of a replacement for Martin and performance on the pitch," said Levy.

The more comments I read from Levy the more I dislike him now.

Levy dug it up again yesterday, not me. He would have had more class If he had declined to comment on the past and look to the future. (rather than talking bollox, in my opinion)

Levy's only mistake was getting caught trying to woo Ramos.

Everyone knows they met Ramos in a hotel vastly populated with the Spanish press, why did this happen?

Agent.

He orchastrated the meeting wanting to get Ramos a deal and knew that by meeting there it would speed up the process.

Chairmen and club representatives meet other football people all the time, idiot move on Kelmsley and Levy's part not to check out the hotel beforehand.

Either way it's done now, let's back OUR chairman and get behind the Ramos Revoloution.

As a chairman, his concern is the club going forward.
As both a fan and the owner, he was clearly seriously concerned about the direction the club was going in.

Regardless of what he done, he was the only one who could make a decision, and its pretty clear there was a lot of unrest somewhere in the club. Be it with Comolli/Jol, players/Jol... one name was in the middle of each unrest, which unfortunately was Jol.

Its pretty clear that Levy respects Comolli, and he ahd to make a decision on what was best. Okay the club got dragged through the mud for a while, but in the end Jol couldn't put a string of half decent performances togehter, let along a win on the bounce. So he had to go.

Can you blame him for trying out who might be of interest to him?
I certainly cannot.

As it seems, Ramos has exactly the same personel as Jol had, but he seems to be getting more out of the same bunch.

As much as I loved Jol, I was dismayed at the lack of fitness our team showed, that in itself is a big no no, considering we embarrassed ourselves by tipping us to oust Arsenal in the race for a Champions League spot.
All down to fitness of the team.... shocking to say the least.

All I can think is that there was a lot more going on that we clearly don't know about it, and I do actually trust Levy to make the big decisions, as, at the end of the day, the buck stops with him, so we really have little else we can do but trust.

So far, I'm happy. He has got us where we are now, and may the future be even better.

Yep blame Levy. It's his fault the players weren't motivated. It's his fault the tactics stank. It's his fault that simple defensive instructions were not being followed. It's his fault that the team were performing poorly despite large investment.

I don't buy this unsettling lark. Benitez' players seem capable of being professional and playing well despite unsteadyness over his position. If the players had respect for the coach, they should have been busting a gut to get him out of his predicament. Which wasn't happening with Jol.

Levy made the correct decisions for this football club.

I don't understand these comments. The fitness one simply isn't true. What happens is that someone mentions our players looking unfit and from then on it snowballs as everytime someone notices one of our team breathing heavily it gets posted and disscussed until people are convinced our players are unfit. Yet the stats showed our players getting through more work than ever team bar Arsenal. How can they possibly have been unfit? What does that say about the other teams? Was the ball falling kindly for our players or did the oppostion players run into our boys making tackles easier? I seriously doubt it. I've got most games this season on hard drinve and I will happily upload the last few minutes of games, which will show that comapritively our team were as fit as any. Our fitness issues weren't to do with the physical conditioning of our players, but the mental conditioning of our fans. If you are told something enought times you start to believe it.

As for getting more out of the side, we've played 3 games, and taken 5pts, when in the same fixtures last season we took 9pts.

Same here. I've got the games against Derby, Everton, Newcastle, Utd, Arse, Blacburn (last season), Charlton (last season), Reading (last season) Blackburn (last season) all on my hard drive, and if you want i'll put the closing stages on any of these games (if I can cut the clips, depedning on the file type) up on youtube. This will totally blow the theory of our players being unfit out of the water, especially if you compare the work they are doing to those of opposition players, which we rarely do. On Sunday there was actually a great shot of Carlton Cole leant over gasping for breath just after the half time break. Had that happened to one of our players under Jol there would have been hell to play, but with oppostion player we just don't notice it and fail to be comnparative.

What he did say, that I was 100% in agreement with, was that Defoe needs to make his mind up and sharpish. He has the same agent as Scumbell and it looks to me like his agent is playing the same games. If Defoe wants to stay, then stop just saying it and start signing a contract. If he doesn't put pen to paper then he should have no complaints if we sell him in January.

I'd love for him to stay but the last thing I want is for him to walk away for nothing - if he's offski then let's get something for him in January that will provide funds to fill some of the other gaps in our squad.
