"Levy raised the points that salaries would not have been dropped if Spurs had suffered a poor campaign, meaning they shall not be raised for a good one"

Whilst i accept this is a fair point put forward by our chairman, it simply won't wash with where we are heading.

Kane and Alli have had improved contracts, so movement in salaries are clearly possible.

Pay up or suffer losing class players, that's where we are now Sir.

He needs to set out his stall. What is said and what happens are two different things but nobody will get money out of him without working for it.

There is an established system at Tottenham of bonuses for good seasons, taking into account cup runs and league finishes. We've read about it here more than once before.

But it doesn't affect the base salaries. They only change when a player negotiates a new contract and that entails extending the contract period.

I'm furious.

What he should have said is, "We're in the money....we're in the money! Therefore all players can have their wages doubled and all players coming into the club in the future should basically just start negotiations at 100k a week and work up from there. Because we're absolutely minted and what can go wrong when you give a load of players unlimited cash? Sorry what's that? No I can categorically deny that I have ever spoken to Peter Ridsdale. This interview is over."

Levy isn't silly he knows fully well certain players within our team will be paid the going rate otherwise they will be gone. I am pretty sure our wage structure is performance related.

Aill's contract renewals is a prime example of us improving contracts.

If we are going to remain at the level we are at, we need to match that with payments consummate with our performances, otherwise the players will just move on.

For winning what?

If Hull Tigers avoid the drop should their players expect increased monetary contracts?

I wholeheartedly agree with Levy in that those very players suffering from greed and want, were the same ones that Poch sat around a table only a few short weeks ago, with his arm around them all smiling, whilst signing nice new sexy contracts, this at a time when we were not in the top four!

Remember:

We we were knocked out of the FA Cup in a semi final (worth another contract increase?), failed to make it out of the CL group stages (worth another contract increase?), failed in the EL (worth another contract increase?) and are still not guaranteed second spot.

I don't care about 'market forces', it's an absolute joke what these guys make (excluding the sponsorship deals). It should be completely based on performance and capped. But I guess it's so far down the road now, that it's very difficult to go back. FIFA should bring in some regulation before Chelski and Citeh start paying out £1m a week! But I guess to ask corrupt FIFA to actually manage the game sensibly is just wishful thinking...
