Linked in today's ITK from Trix...

Hmmmm.

Hearing there have been discreet enquiries for Lewis Cook.

Maybe a fall back option or an addition to a more senior CM?

I was told two at the start of the window if Dembele left. :cautious:

Really good player. home grown. Would compete with Harry Winks for a place in my opinion so the question is do we have space for them both.

well signing Grealish and then spending the final week chasing Cook would certainly be Brave & Risky, as the Fans may just eat Daniel Levy at the opening Ceremony

Winks is just as good, if not better than Cook in my opinion. Just a shame the poor sod is always injured.

I rate Lewis Cook, but since he's only just signed a new deal recently think you're looking at big money.

There was paper talk a little while ago I believe of £20m and Liverpool. He was on the England reserve list and looks a descent player, would fit the HG criteria and £20m these days seems like equivalent to a £5m punt a few years ago (as much as that makes me shudder).

He's a bit meh, but I do wonder if Pochettino could improve him. He's certainly the right type of CM we need.

However, selling Onomah just to get this guy in makes no sense. Pretty sure at the U20 WC Onomah outperformed him in CM.
Yes but how many great youth fizzle out or reach their maximum ability while still youth, while others continue to improve? Not saying that is the case with Josh but, he didn't do himself any great favours last season and Trippier is a great example of a player getting better and better over time. maybe Cook is more Trips than Bostock?!

zero chance Bournemouth sell him for less than 30 million since they don't need or want to sell, and there's only 2 weeks left to get a replacment in.

Levy has shot himself in the face in dealing with prem clubs now

Can understand why we would look at him, but

21 yro , english, talented with a contract until 2022 - which will obviously make him quite expensive

Maybe Levy is thinking that he hasn't had many dealings with bournemouth so it's a new challenge.

Obviously a chance that the supposed link/interest is purely to let Grealish/Villa know that he's not the only young English talent available & to get the deal done asap ????

Think Adam Smith was the last deal we did with them - don't know when we bought one of their players though
