A good loan spell could do wonders for Lewis. I doubt the club have any plans to sell him and you can't underestimate the benefits of playing every game in the PL. Will come on leaps and bounds.

I think it was a good idea to loan him out.

We've got Paulinho, Dembele, Bentaleb, Capoue, Sandro, all competing for places in central midfield. In the number ten role we've got Eriksen, Chadli, Siggy, and hopefully Lamela all competing for places.

If he'd stayed he might get a game here and there, with a few sub appearances, but it's unlikely he'd get a run of games. At Fulham he'll be playing Premier League football every week. The whole time he'll be learning and improving, whilst giving us the opportunity to see exactly what he has to offer.

If he's still a persona non grata in the summer, his value is likely to be considerably higher too. Just seems like a good deal all round.

No running around like a lunatic today either, to be fair he needs to track back tighter with the Utd players but it does show that simple instruction has focused him and he seems to be following it.

Hopefully by the summer he'll be ahead of all of those competing for the deep lying playmaker role

But he is playing the number 10 role now:wacky:

That's half the problem, I don't even know what some of our players best positions are and we signed too many midfielders for them all to play in their preferred roles. Not many players will change leagues, be out of position & in and out of the side & be able to display their best form.

Every time i've seen the best of Holtby he's played as a 10. It's his best position IMO. He's closer to VDV than Modric.

I think we can sell a few of thm and raise quite a bit of cash to use in the summer. Chadli,Defoe, sig,Livermore must bring in close to 25-30 million.

And he just knocked 2 points off United
