Good move for him. He's got the much needed energy that Fulham lack in midfield so should get plenty of game time.

From FriendsOfFulham;

I think we changed it slightly for today. With Kvist as defensive cover it seemed more like a 4-1-2-3 with Holtby cutting in from the right to play a number 10 role and Riether acting as wingback
Half the team can go! Only bright spots today are Holtby and Kvist.
Holtby is amazing
Holty has been an excellent spark but needs to be in the middle to have more options and more time on the ball.
Two new boys the best players on the park for us so far.
Lovely football from Holtby there for that Bent chance.
Holtby looks class but he needs to be played in the middle.

Nice to read positive comments about Holtby's debut - I feared the worst when I saw they had lost 3-0 at home

Will be interesting how he does there until the end of the season and if what he does is enough to force his way into our thinking for next season.

If we have a new boss taking over then surely everyone starts on a level playing field and the regular first team football (most importantly EPL football) can only aid his experience and development and be to his advantage for next season.

For anyone into TFC, or more specifically Windy, it's points like this which is why I don't rate his opinion at all. When going over his little loan section, he summed up Holtby's first game for Fulham by simply saying 'he only managed 57% pass completion'. Anyone he refers to pass completion as a reflection of ability should be permanently ignored, especially when as you can see from my post above, he clearly had a good debut. And no, this isn't a Holtby driven agenda (surprisingly for some) - I've always said Windy was worshipped for simply having too much time on his hands. Being able to watch a lot of football doesn't elevate your opinion!

If you don't know, then keep it that way.

Actually, that's not fair. TFC aka The Fighting Cock, is a weekly podcast put out about Tottenham. They do have some good opinions, but Windy is this guy who is supposed to have been sent down from above to depart wisdom and knowledge upon us, but tbh I think most of his opinions suck. But his reputation is saintly, so if you can disregard his little 5 min section you might like it.

I find Windy's opinion interesting, especially as he has seen much more of the youth team than me, but I agree with the bit about stats.

57% - does that include when the player receiving the ball was outwitted by a defender, or too lazy to get the ball, or set piece delivery, or when a player gets a foot on the ball he shouldn't but can't quite get it to a team mate?

I think Hotlby's best position is central and a little deeper, I'd like to see an extended stint for him there.

If he does prove himself I think he will go elsewhere.

Think he deserves a chance, and still has a future with us. He just isn't physical enough to play in the center of midfield for us at the moment, but i always feel he has the ability to do something "special" to bag us a goal.
