I tell you who has caught my eye a couple of times now at Lyon, the young kid Aouar. I mentioned him above, he had a good game against Monaco. He's only 19, plays CM/8 type tenacious but can also play about and looks to be progressive. Definitely one to watch.

I have only seen him a couple of times but he's a livewire for sure. Decent technique, buzzes about, in and out the area, but has scored a few gaols so far, scored against Monaco last week if I remember correctly, after a good bit of work by Fekir, darting in close out.

Only ask because we were linked to him this summer and he was apparently very interested. Seems however, The reason Lyon got him was because Real have a buy-back in the contract. Seems like an exciting player though!

According to the papers there is no buy back clause for Real:

Real Madrid do not have a buy-back clause on Lyon striker Mariano Diaz. The Dominican international left the Bernabeu in the summer but, while some reports in the Spanish media have claimed that Madrid can buy him back, the French club have confirmed there is no such clause. Diaz has seven goals in nine Ligue 1 appearances this season for Lyon but was injured for their 2-1 Europa League victory over Everton on Thursday night. (Marca)

Lille a bit unlucky not to get something out of the game against Marseille. They've got a very young side (oldest player is 25). Had lots of the ball, lots of effort, just lacking quality in the final third.

Were all over OM. They seem to be coming together with Bielsa's methods as they looked a shitload better than when I saw them against Bordeaux earlier in the season. Question is how much more time will the board give him?

ASSE v OL coming up. Anyone? Bueller, Bueller? I wonder if @Bus-Conductor will show up? He might be busy whipping himself for having watched a somewhat open Mourinho display earlier. :D

Recording this one, will get to it later, enjoying Lyon this year, despite Genesio’s jiggeryfuckery

26 minutes in. Cheeky, clever goal by Depay, but an absolute cracker by Fekir.

Always a lively game this, good atmosphere.

What a lovely ball from Aouar for the third goal. Flagged him up first time I saw him and was talking about him in the transfer wish list last week. Looks like cracking little player to me.

That's an understatement. I didn't see Depay's goal live or in replay as i was also watching Real struggle with Las Palmas. I did see the rest of the goals and most importantly the fifth goal and celebration.

Lacroix rightly red’d. Crazy tackle.
Awful tackle. Immediately feared for his ACL as his knee buckled while his foot was trapped. As a dribbler, Fekir really didn't protect himself there though. But tbf who thinks someone is going to through in that type of challenge.

Thought to myself "that curmudgeon B-C is gonna love that one" while dreaming of a summer move for the kid. If we get in there early we might have a chance but we really should be looking for more creativity and control for/from the MF.

Two more goals for Fekir brings him to 9 goals in 10 matches for Lyon in the league. They are playing really good football again with such a young squad. We need to make signing Fekir a priority next summer. He's got the skills to win matches like the one today against Palace with a bit of magic.

Yeah bit naughty by Fekir at the end but I’m guessing the AS fans had been giving him shit for the sending off.

I’d take Aouar in Jan if I could. Cracking little player. Sees a pass too, lovely ball for the 3rd or 4th goal.

You know my feelings on Fekir. I’d take the chance.

I wonder what a move for Aouar would mean for Onomah? I like Josh and have watched more than a few AV games. He has shown all the things he hasn't shown for us...most probably because he is being played in his proper position. Granted, it seems Aouar is more versatile as he has played and performed well (at least better than Memphis) on the wing, AM, and holding (as he did yesterday) so it may not be a 1 in 1 out situation as they could both be accommodated. Aouar is a great 'Poch age' as well as 19 gives us a good 5-6 years before his prime. God I wish I was privy to the workings of the scouting team.

I wasn’t aware Aouar had played anywhere other than CM, certainly that’s where I see him playing. I don’t think signing one very good cm damages Onomah’s chances (slim that they are with Poch it seems) At the moment we have one proper cm available in Winks. I don’t particularly want to see Dier, Sissoko or Dembele there ever again (I know I will though) going forward I’d take Wanyama, Winks, Onomah and Aouar happily.

Onomah actually hasn’t been used as a cm by Bruce since early in the season, last few games he’s almost been played as a second striker with very mixed results on Onomah’s performances.Yes, he’s been getting game time but it’s not been enhancing his credentials as a cm, and Villa play shocking football.

@heelspurs

Have you seen the Gustavo goal for Marseille. I'm just watching the game now, 42 minute he scores when his shot nutmegs three defenders in a row, but all are about 2/3 yards apart, including one standing on the goal line. it's hilarious.

I remember saying at the start of the season Gustavo was a fascinating signing, and not just because he looks like a a member of Kid Creole and the Coconuts.
