Liverpool in the Champions League

Well, Benitez's side's performances are nothing if not unpredictable in the Champions League. I thought with all the turmoil domestically, they'd pull something out before now, traditionally he uses the tournament to save his bacon when their league challenge goes to pot.

As noted by this Champions League blog on betting tips, there are a few factors at work with the Debrecen game. Firstly, how will the Hungarian side play? They recently put together two very open encounters with Fiorentina, but stifled Liverpool at Anfield, so will they be more attacking at home?

Also, are Lyons in good enough form to beat Fiorentina, and will they take the match seriously enough?

All that said, 50-1 on Liverpool winning the Champions League might be worth a couple of quid. I love the longterm bets!
