They weren’t great either, but a lot of their best moments came from our messing around with the ball at the back. My point was that whilst the draw is a good result we shouldn’t always let the final score dictate what we thought went on in the game. We all would have been fuming had we not got that penalty at the end

But that would mean that we were judging the game by the final score rather than the performance. We deserved a draw today, let's not worry about how we got there.

Sorry but this doesn't make any sense.

Firstly it wasn't a fortunate penalty, it was soft but it was a foul. Secondly we didn't crumble, like I said and like you acknowledged it was a brilliant goal we conceded from one of the best players in the league, it's not as if it was gifted like the first nor did we shoot ourselves in the foot like Liverpool did.

This legends tag is absolute bollocks, it's bad enough when it's perpetuated by media and rival fans but when our own fans subscribe to this myth that we're still legends it's fkin annoying because it's not true and hasn't been true for a couple of years now. All you want to do is throw around the legends tag because I think it suits your narrative about Tottenham and it's almost as if you want to wallow in self pity.

The only person fearing the worst was you, if the team had your poor mentality then we'd be languishing in mid table.

Yes mate, I was fearing the worst when I spent the entire thread saying that we were going to win the game other than 5-10 mins in the first half.

You say that I want us to “wallow in mid table” and if the team had my “poor mentality” we would be?

You mean, the mentality of never settling for second best? Never being happy with mediocrity like some of our supporters are?

You can’t on one hand criticise me for expecting too much and then on the other say I have mid table mentality, the reason I was pissed off and believed we bottled it is because I KNOW we are a better side than Liverpool and we SHOULD have buried them, the entire reason they got that second goal was purely down to the fact that we were afraid and it very nearly ended the same way it always does up there.

What I said makes perfect sense.

It was a fortunate penalty because the ref wasn’t going to give it and how often in this league do you see a linesman making a big call like that for the ref? I certainly can’t remember the last time I witnessed that? It was fortunate also because we absolutely dominated the second half and should have been out of sight but after we missed the first pen we started letting them back into the game which brings me to the goal.

It was a fantastic goal but it was entirely preventable and more down to defensive errors than individual brilliance, rewatch it and try to tell me otherwise.

I am sorry but you aren’t looking at this objectively at all, it hasn’t changed yet, we have improved leaps and bounds but we still have that question mark over us and rightfully so, we have shown the last two seasons that we have these moments.

The biggest one being the game against the scum during the Leicester season, them down to ten men, us going 2-1 up and 1 point clear at the top of the league only to concede from a very poor goal, we bottled it that day and it’s those occasions where we have to change it.

It was very nearly the same story today, hence why I hope today will be another lesson to take forward for these players.

I don’t sit here and say this shit because I wallow or expect the worst or take pride in calling us legends, I say it because I believe we have a team capable of winning multiple trophies and until we move
over that hump it will never change.

Where was Rose today?
I expect simply not picked - we're only really going to want to bring him on if Davies is injured or sent off, and if that happens we have a backup LB in Vertonghen anyway. Probably better off with another midfield or attacking option to change the game.

But as Dermot Gallagher explained those touches by Liverpool players create a new phase of play so Kane isn't offside.

As it was Karius shouldn't have been on the pitch to make the save and even then it should have been retaken as he was way off his line.

Dermot Gallagher is right. Personally I just wish they would go back to the old rule..... You are either on side or not. None of this multiple phase grey area bollocks.

As for the game, I think we can take an enormous amount of positivity from that, one nil down in three minutes against the best counter attacking team in the prem who can hit you on the break at will, we had to chase the game all afternoon and coped with it and grew as it went on.
The first half was frantic and we made mistakes but we played our way into it in a professional controlled manner dominating possession if not the game but in the second half by moving a few players around we dominated both and by the sixtieth minute Liverpool were defending en masse deeper and deeper and whatever change Klopp made we took in our stride and nullyfied them, we really were just too good for them and but for a quality individual goal that really owed nothing to his teammates thay'd have never got the second. We outplayed Manchester United on Wednesday and we outplayed Liverpool for at least fifty minutes today and it is no longer raising our game to do it, we are doing it as a matter of course.
The other challengers won't be looking forward to playing us at the moment.

Its also important to note that under Klopp Liverpool have the best record against the top 6. This is a tough match its not a bottling if we lost to them, and the thing is we always tried to play, even after going down the second time, with few minutes left we still tried, we didn't give up or submit, ever in that game of football.

I hated it when people talked about Bottling it against chelsea in the battle of Stamford bridge, when we actually played well throughout that game its just chelsea have players who can seriously damage you out of nowhere, they were a good team, they could do that. Its what happened after that was concerning.
They did bottle it. Game was won at HT, then team had risen to Hazard's BS on how they'd play out of their skins to purely stop us.

Which they hadn't done. We lost it(not the title, the game), through getting wound up. The cards record shows that.

Just watched the game. We were awesome 2nd half, miles better than Liverpool were in the first half. 1-1 well and truly deserved and I was happy with the point and what a bloody worldly by Wanyama. Kinda wish the game ended there really.

Kane's first Peno. That minute or so of the ref discussing with the lino seemed to go on for ages. Not really sure why they were talking but I was sure he was going to change his mind. Was so relieved when it was given only to see the worst Penalty I have ever seen Kane take. Awful Awful pen. I punched things, I swore at inanimate objects but when Salah scored I really lost the fucking plot!

Still can't believe the 2nd peno was given. It was a clear peno but when I saw moss turn his back and leg it I knew he had pussied out. Long live the lino.

Couldn't even watch the peno but that's what Kane should have done for the first! I'm actually still angry at him because I think if we went 2-1 up we would have won. Ill forgive him though!

In the end I'm not sure how I feel. Relieved? Frustrated? Pleased? Fuck knows but for all the wanking the commentary did over Liverpool in the first half I think we actually showed we were a better side. Bring on the Arsenal.

Just reading the match thread on RAWK and a lot of them are saying how they were dead on their feet, Spurs the better side, Salah saving them etc Never thought I’d see that in there but more surprised that people couldn’t see it here either. Great point and could have been a magnificent 3, not saying it was our best or anything like that but to go there and dominate in that second half gives us the momentum to fuck the Arsenal next week and get the teams above us in a state. Harry was a bit off but that’s cool, he’s been on so much he can have a month of off for me and I’d still love him to death.

Just back from the game. We could/should have won. Battered them in the second half and were on top for 25mins of the first. They defended well. Was sitting with the Dippers. Copious levels of salt around me at the final whistle, brilliant fun.

Why should it go back? FIFA made a rule change that favors attacking and open football. Lovern made a shit touch on the ball. Why should he be bailed out?
