Some right crybabies on here

We lost to Liverpool at Anfield. Shit happens, its not like it couldnt have gone either way. You thought we were now going to lay waste to every team we play home and away?
i honestly was hoping we would lol.. but im a realist, this loss didnt hit me as hard as it should and usually does, i think its because i was still buzzing from the nld..no worries though, im a happy man. spurs are fun to watch again, we have some heart and grit, tons of academy products and the youngest first team in the pl basically. future is bright, future is lillywhite.

after a day of cooling down, I must say our two DMs are the lynchpin to our overall performances IMO.. Rose and Walker are probably the best FBs we have and they can still improve.. their attacking play are very much needed for us to play the flair we craved.. their defensive-mindedness will need Poch and Team to coach into maturity..

but the DMs of Bentaleb and Mason are so crucial if one of them played below par, let alone both last night, our front and back players will no doubt feel the pressure, and is alot of pressure, to do what they are doing best respectively, attacking and defending.. evidently, our victories over chelscum and scums had them performed stellar..

on hindsight, but Stambouli really should have subbed in the 2nd half onwards, seeing how knackered either one of Bentaleb and Mason was.. Dembele could be useful too, apparently fitter and capable of tackling and holding up so play as well, dropping deeper into that role IMO, leaving Chadli forming the trio of himself, Eriksen and Lamela behind Kane..

I hope Poch can properly manage Bentaleb and Mason fitness and energy to fully optimise their strengths to our remaining run in...

I have to say Michael Owen is such a fecking hypocrite - its unreal.

Against Arsenal for their goal, were Ozil is a fraction off side, he says he always likes to see the forward getting the benefit of the doubt.

Last night, Kane is a fraction off side for Dembele's goal, and nowhere does he say the forward should of been given the benefit of the doubt, in fact he basically says it should't of counted and been ruled offside.

If that's not a very clear example of bias I don't what is.

Havent gone back very far in this thread, prob last 5 pages, but Jeez there's some fkin doom merchants on here.
We lost by 1 goal, away from home, to Liverpool.
Not Hull or West Brom, bloody Liverpool.
And we were unlucky, a draw would have been a fair result.
Yes we made some daft mistakes but those guys ran their fkin nuts of on Saturday for a great win and did it again last night.
You cant win EVERY game.
We're in a cup final.
We beat Chelsea 5.3
We beat Arsenal 2.1
We're still in with a shout for 3rd nevermind 4th, something that was unthinkable just a few months back as its tight as a ducks arse and Man U are playing worse than us, Liverpool, Southampton and Arsenal imo.
We're still in the Europa league.
We're playing miles better football than we have in ages, prob since Harrys days, so lighten up.
No way am I gonna come on here and moan about how we played last night, to a fkin man I might add, after last night and the weekends performances.
As Jesus said 'There's just no pleasing some people'.... or was it Brian?

Edit- Match commentary omg. What fkin shit for brains thinks having Owen commentating a Liverpool game is in any way a good idea? Sky put Alan bloody Smith for every Spurs or Arsenal game and if we dont get him its bloody Quinn.
There, got a moan in lol.

Don't think Stambouli was on the bench, was he?

Quick shout for Dembele.
Thought he was awesome last night and seems to have finally bought into Pochs philosophy (shit, check me out, using philosophy lol. I'm so modern ) and getting back to his best.

Brilliant match both teams high energy going at it.

Not disappointed with the performance at all, shame we lost but largely due to sloppy goals otherwise a draw would've been a far fairer result.

Rose was a bit poor for the penalty and obviously Lloris for the first goal but as a team we played brilliantly the stats say about 51% possession to us and 15 shots us 16 them very even exciting game.

Agree we need to become more solid but liking what I'm seeing a lot.

COYS
I agree. If we always played that well in brilliant matches against top four teams then being a Spurs fan would be much more fun.

There was a good point in an article I read ages ago - that you might as well keep going for the win in a tied game late on then sitting back and settling for the draw.

Because while we dropped a point the other night by going for the win - it will work in your favour in the long-run if you grab that winner and secure the full 3.

Before the Arsenal & Liverpool games some people might have settled for two draws to keep things ticking over, but by going for the win late on in both we ended up with 3 rather than 2 or 1 points.

Hope that makes sense

Yep all clear so we got 3 points instead of 2 got it.

Am I the only one to hope I don't have to be reminded of the painful Anfield scoreline here until Thursday? Could the Liverpool matchthread please retire to a less prominent position? Maybe it's a childish request, but I'm serious - it was bad enough on the night ;)

Its no coincidence that there is a co-relation between Mousa's improved performance and he being moved from CM to ACM. The shackles have come off!

Yea but Eriksens performances have dipped on the left
I have never been Eriksen's biggest fan, but credit where its due, he has upped his game by being more aggressive resulting in better pressing and making himself available. My criticism of his is that he needs to match his corners to his excellent free kick techniques as at the moment they are terrible

It may be a biased opinion but it seems to me 70% of corners taken in PL are bloody awful, unless they're against us lol.
To be fair I do think we've improved at defending corners.
For the last 2 to 3 seasons my arse nipped up everytime we conceded one as we were woeful and looked like conceding constantly..... too much information?

(Assuming you mean Eriksen, as the post you are responding to was about him and his corners are poor in comparison to his free-kicks, whereas Erik Lamela's corners are not bad but his free-kicks, whenever he has been allowed near them, have been poor):

hitting a corner at pace and with the right trajectory into a small area isn't as simple as fans will have you believe.

It really isn't that difficult either and you would hope someone with good technique, who gets paid 3m a year to spend a few hours everyday practising it would at least do it more consistently than Eriksen has for much of this season.

I'm loving his new work ethic, but his corners and indirect free kicks leave a lot to be desired.

I stand corrected, I did mean Eriksen!

I was talking about taking corners, not defending them!

I'd suggest trying to get it in the general area of the 6yd box first before concentrating on hitting the perfect fast paced curled in corner while 9 times out of 10 you're hitting the first defender.
Its not that hard.
Fkin pub teams at the weekend take better corners than we do and I know, I watch them.
If you hit the first defender with the ball 3 attempts on the bounce with a pub team then next corner you're not bloody takin it.
I whipped in a few when I was playing and didnt find it hard getting it in the 6yd box.
These are professionals ffs.
It baffles me how shit they are.
The 'well they're trying to whip it in with precision' argument while in reality most are dog shit just makes no sense.
Its like a pro dart player who keeps scoring 22 but its ok cause he's going for 180
Should add I'm not gunning for Eriksen specifically. I think the standard of corners in English football in general is woeful.
