How would anyone on here know?
Email the club.
This is a serious issue and not a laughing matter. I didn't ask it for people to give the reasoning, of which there can't be one. I was raising the issue because there are only four Premiership clubs that have signed up.

Note 'permanent staff'. Which the club (at least at the time, I'm not 100% au fait with the current situation) simply didn't use for low-paid positions - stewards, caterers and the like were all contracted in via third-parties who generally didn't pay the living wage.

I thought the same but weren't sure regarding the outsourcing. Thanks for the information!

The fact that our part time employees are not 'employed' by the club is a complete cop out and disgraceful

They are supposed to come in at the drop of a hat and provide a first class service. The least we can do is pay them a decent hourly rate

Sort it out Spurs and sign up to this scheme

We have a chairman on god knows how much and players on hundreds of thousands a week and we cannot pay everybody that works for us whether full/part time/temp a minimum of about £8.50 per hour

For fuck sake.......

How the fuck do you guys expect us keep signing these big money players if we start paying every Tom, Dick and Harry a fair wage? :cautious:

I've never bought a pint at half time and expected a "first class service" from people who clearly don't want to be there.

Not only that, stewards have to be at the ground an hour and a half before a game unpaid.

The club isn't registered as an Accredited Living Wage Employer, which is embarrassing really.

My company is, and we employ far, far fewer people and turn over in a year what I imagine the matchday bars turn over at half time.

Disgraceful.
Pay up.
Inequality is the next worst thing
and this is part of it.
Must be a good reason
