Think he's been a bit unlucky. On the odd occasions he's got on the pitch he's produced some really nice link up play, but we've never put crosses into the box for him which is his bread and butter.

Last summer he said: “Athletic Club are my home and if they make an offer, a return could happen.

“I enjoyed many wonderful moments at the club that I will never forget and Athletic will always hold a special place in my heart.

“If they do make me a proposal to come back, then I would have to think about it and yes, maybe it could happen.”

It’s really hard to be a back up striker at spurs imo. I’ve no idea if we would be better to persevere with either Llorente or Jansen, or spend large amounts of coin on a different striker with the risk of being in the same situation as the past few seasons

Totally agree, the lack of game time looks to have clearly affected Llorente's confidence. My opinion would be to take a good look at our youth strikers (Sterling, Griffiths, Harrison, etc.) in the preseason before opting to purchase another Llorente, Janssen, N'Jie, type of striker. If we were able to promote a youth striker to the first team they could greatly benefit from training with Kane etc. However, it is difficult to say if any of them are ready to make that leap (even though everyone will be high on Griffiths after that 4 goal performance against the Arseanal U18s).

I don't think Athletic wants him back. This guy ran down his contract and left for nothing.

I'd like to see Griffiths starting to be integrated with the first team, if only at a training level for the time being. The kid obviously has talent.
