Former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas says Hugo Lloris can no longer be described as one of the World's best goalkeepers, because of the number of mistakes he is making.

He's absolutely right. Too many mistakes and poor decisions. He's still a top class shot stopper but needs to improve a lot in other areas to be considered elite.

I find it amusing watching Jenas state the obvious with that profound look on his face. Nice guy but he appears everywhere for some reason.

All goalies make mistakes. An occupational hazard when you're the last line of defence...

...but he needs to stop rushing out of goal!! He's done it for a few seasons now. It's beyond sweeping, which was a strength in our play before, or coming out to make the late save vs West Ham, which was still in the box. It's reckless and unnecessary.

vs Man City at the Etihad last season (the attempted header)
vs Man City at Wembley last season (on Sterling, given as a pen)
vs Barcelona this season
PSV now..

That's without thinking. Maybe there are more. The weak turn vs Croatia in the WC Final is also concerning. Another piece of poor judgement.

I can see how he may think he's the only one who can prevent a goal but from the replays it doesn't seem to be the case. He just takes himself out of the game.

Vs Barca, the player has to pass across because the defence is in a line and all the Barca players are behind him. Lloris just leaves an open goal.

Vs PSV there is a defender either side as he rushes out. Lozano is fast but so is Sanchez and it only needs him to be held up for either defender to make an easy tackle.

Really bizarre for an experienced keeper.

The one intelligent rush out was against Lukaku where he made it difficult for him to score; he didn't need to win the ball. Maybe, he should think about that rather than wanting to clear out. His decision-making when it comes to risk, personal or professional, is suspect. He has got to know his limitations and work within them.

Tricky one, last Saturday @ West Ham he won us the points, PSV awful mistake. Poch backs him to the hilt so don’t expect him to be dropped. Gazza has to be #2 not Vorm

No player wins every challenge. And it's not like he drops a clanger week in, week out.

Undoubtedly the finest keeper we've had since Jennings and Clemence.

While the latter is undoubtable, he's the best keeper since I was born ('89) by a country mile, recently I've felt that Hugo actually does drop a clanger almost every week. Matches like WHAM away, where he won the game for us, seem to be sadly fewer and further between and he's messed up badly in both CL games he's played this season plus the World Cup final, which doesn't speak well of his ability to keep a cool head in the big games.

I really hope he turns it around, and that he can regain his 2013-2017 level where he was absolutely brilliant, but he's been on a worrying downturn ever since we left old WHL. It's gone on for too long for us to keep ignoring it.

we are forgetting when we had Robinson who couldn't stop any long range strike, and then we had Gomez, who would pull off amazing saves only to drop a clanger.

Loris, isn't perfect, but i wouldn't swap him just yet.
