True...not really big name, but managers whose reputations were hyped up by the media:
Ramos
AVB

Before appointing AVB. We had a chance to go for Martinez.
But, we all know how everyone felt about that possible appointment don't we.

Neither of those are comparable to LVG. Ramos had some success at Sevilla and AVB was sacked at Chelsea.

You could argue Benitez did everything required of him, finished 3rd and won the EL. Off the back of the Di Matteo sacking, they were pretty much out of the CL and 9 points off top when he took over.

Technically he didn't get fired though, his contract ended.

Keep praying we lose enough matches guys so we can bring in your LVG, FDB or whatever other exotic name you're all w***king over. Steve McClaren won the (Mickey mouse) Dutch league with FC Twente, should we consider hiring him too? Also with respect to Bayern Munich or Barcalona, any manager/coach would probably be considered a failure if they didn't win a title there..
Rather than focus just on the trophies LVG won...look at some of the teams he built i.e the Ajax and Bayern teams. I'm all for giving Tim Sherwood a chance and think he is doing great, but can you imagine if LVG was able to work some of his magic at WHL...would be very exciting times. Also we've got a squad with great potential...title winning with the right person at the helm(y)

LVG and Tottenham, a perfect match.

In what universe?
I actually think he could be and I like Tim sherwood but its unknown whether he wants the job yet, as he wasn't doing the U21's week in week out

Maybe Sherwood didnt want the job but was pushed into it when AVB was sacked and we were in a bind and agreed to stay in the role until summer when we can get LVG in?

I actually think he could be

Why? In a normal business when you hire in a management position lot more emphasis (than on your average football manager appointment) is put on a personality of manager, wether it fits in with a organization culture and with those he is supposed to work with. Your past achievements and your CV doesn't help a bit if you're not a match on that department.

Is LVG such a personality that he is likely to form a functioning relationship with Levy, other persons in higher echelon or even with our players (whom are moulded in part by our club culture of cult of personality and strong player power on dressing room)? If answer is no, then his CV means next to nothing.

Im not sold on the idea of LVG. And definitely not if Tim maintains anything close to the performance up until now.

I disagree, LVG isn't a guy who is obsessed with bringing in certain targets like AVB was and he has worked under a DOF very well before like at Barca(1st time), Ajax and AZ problem, however at Bayern the DOF weren't on the same page but they had big players who weren't happy.

We don't have any big players or personalities in our dressing room other than Ade (who worked well under Mourinho). I think the squad would work well under Van Gaal, lets be honest AVB was similar and other than Ade it went ok added to the fact our squad is very young and he works well with younger players. Also most of the squad have never worked with such a highly rated manager.

Of course all of this hypothetical, as it depends on if Sherwood would still want to stay at the end of season other wise its useless talking about it.

"Running is for animals. You need a brain and a ball for football." Quote from LVG

That leaves a few of our first team regulars fucked if he comes in.

REALLY SIMPLE........... Sherwood is our manager now and we are doing (very) well in the league at the moment

QUESTION..... Why should we disrespect our own current manager by talking about potential new managers during a time when Sherwood has had the best start out of all recent spurs managers??

THE GRASS ISNT ALWAYS GREENER!! Lets see how Tim does first!!

Not really sold on the idea of appointing an OAP who has never managed in the prem before, no matter how impressive his CV may be.

Well it can't be the never managed in the prem bit that concerns you, not the CV, so basically, you don't like old people……..

Thats taking over from Ramsy & Sir Les's old roles not Sherwood's though.
Sherwood seemed to do a bit of everything, taking over the U21's at times, doing the loans and just overlooking everything(we think)

I think he can still do that as manager, apparently he is abit hands off and Ramsey does a lot of the work, kinda like how they did at the U21's.
