Last night’s hosts publicised the local charity which is close to the hearts of all residents across the South Yorkshire region.

Tottenham Hotspur's coaching staff wore pin badges in the build up to the game, on the bench during the game and after the match in support of Weston Park Cancer Charity.

The London outfit contacted Barnsley Football Club to see how they could help raise awareness of a local charity in support of the Club and more so, Club Custodian Patrick Cryne.

Spurs decided to wear the pin badges alongside the Reds’ bench as well as offering signed memorabilia for auction which will raise money for Weston Park.

The Club were delighted to receive such heartfelt support from the Premier League side and we would like to extend our well wishes and support to them throughout the rest of their campaign following the Carabao Cup clash at Wembley.

Barnsley Football Club Chief Executive Gauthier Ganaye wanted to thank Tottenham Hotspur personally and said, “It was a great gesture of support from Spurs and it’s greatly appreciated. Weston Park have gained a higher following from this support and any awareness of their good work is certainly a benefit to the wider public as well. It was a great evening on and off the pitch last night and the gesture from Tottenham has further enhanced a memorable occasion.”
