I know the pundits are saying FIFA got it right but for me he got of lightly, the biting was bad enough (again!) but the way he held his face and rolled around was really disgusting and he should have got a 12 month ban.

Personally i detest Suarez and cant wait till he's out of the PL.

Yup, ban should be increasing every time he gets punished for the SAME offence.

Only issue is, does this play into Liverpool's hands again? Like last season, does it make it more likely they can keep hold of him now?

See what you mean. But he misses quarter of the season, and up his value has gone down servely, as if he bites again, he's looking at a massive ban

If he does it again he is in great risk of a lifetime ban. Then where would Liverpool be?

Is there actually a rule about not biting in football? Its one of those things they may not have even considered when writing the rule book. Maybe it's just frowned on but not really illegal. In which case he is being punished simply for finding a loophole in the system.

Free Suarez! :cautious:

It gets classed as violent conduct. He is a lucky boy. The 3rd time same offence?! And as mentioned his play acting after to try and divert attention - just as he did after the ivanovic incident. How can the authorities let a "role model" keep doing this? It should have been a season ban. Simple. 9 games/4 (but really 3) months is nothing - players miss more through injury.

My favourite bit was where the other Uruguayan player tries to calm it down - while trying to pull the Italian's shirt up to cover the bite mark

Should have been a lifetime ban and the game handed to Italy by default.
Oh, I'd let him play in his national league if he wanted, but never to leave Uruguay again.

He won't be around in the ELP next season. Even before this latest incident, he had already made disparaging remarks about the press, who will not now hold back. My guess is that PSG will go for him. He will be too much liability for Barca and Madrid, whose sponsors and business partners tend to go for scandal free boys like Garath Bale.

Third biting incident.

The Evra negrito incident

The handball at the last WC.

Thoroughly unlikeable chap.

Should have been six months or more.

He got off lightly. Should have at least been a 12-month ban from all football.

The fact that he and his team mates actually tried to deny it happened, then he called in a lawyer to make his denials more strenuous, for me mean his ban should have been increased for that alone.

He should have got at least 12 month. As usual FIFA lack the balls.
I do wonder how many of his school mates got bites from him. This hasn't just been over the last few years, he must have been doing this all his life !
