He's a better flying wing back than Ben Davies,
if we stick to the 3 defence formation then ideally Shaw would be competition for Rose,
while Davies would compete with Vertonghen/Wimmer.

I don't think so. He only filled in there the last game because nobody else on the bench could play in that position, although when he came on we didn't play with a back 3 so much, he came over more to the left and Rose took up a left wing position. I suspect if it was possible to see both players positioning maps since the substitution they would show as much. Poch likes Davies in his best position as a fullback.

Anyway, with having Davies we don't need Shaw. Plus Shaw is on over £100k a week at Man U so we won't be signing him anyway!

70k a week apparently.

If he is so good why isn't Mourinho selecting him when fit ?

Different Managers see different things. He took months to give Micky Tarian a run out. I'm not sure on this one, but Poch clearly knows a lot about Shaw so if he ends up here then great as it will be down to Poch.

I think the balance we have between rose and davies and walker and trippier is perfect. Bring in Shaw and it could upset Rose's game time. Rose is head and shoulders above Shaw and I'd rather not upset the apple cart with that.

Its helps us that Trippier and Davies are happy being the understudies to Rose and Walker, once that situation changes then yes.

With the switch to 3 at the back Shaw (when fit obviously) would be more suited as a wingback than Davies so I could see the logic of buying him. There is clearly a lot of people in here who don't realise how good Shaw was under Poch. I don't think his signing would disrupt anything.

Shaw would obviously strengthen the squad, but I can't see this happening, for several reasons.

For starters he'll be on a lot more money than Danny Rose and I don't see Rose getting dropped any time soon. You can't have a player sat on the bench on significantly higher wages than the one he can't get past. It would lead to a major round of pay increases (e.g. Kyle Walker would deserve the same money as Rose). It would cause a whole load of disruption for a player we don't actually need.

He played in a back 3 for Wales through out the euros.

My Utd supporting mate reckons Shaw is not in Mourinho's good books because he turned him down for Chelsea.

Mourinho shortly after confirmed his interest but spinned it that Shaw's wages would destabalise the dressing room (lol)

Wouldn't put it past Mourinho to hold a grudge.
