Malbranque /Tanio never look comfortable on the flanks
Malbranque has the vision and the technical ability. He's also very mobile, will track back. I"m sure he won't overdribble in his prefered CM role.
Tanio- Tanio's a fighter, who will provide great cover/outlet for the backfour, as oppose to Zok who's static even when Chimb was shouting to him to collect.

I think they'll do a better job than Jenas - Zok partnership.

They're both too small, they're a both tenacious and good on the deck but these days you need hight in the centre of the park

Tainio should NEVER be in our first choice CM.

I'd have JJ and Hudd, because if we can't stop letting goals in, we might as well play our two most creative to try and doddle a couple in.

We need to change the midfield, probably worth a try. what is worrying though, is that we don't seem able to change mid game if it don't work.

Ah, yes, well that would be Jol's policy to not make a sub before 80 minutes getting in the way of that.

He's a fighter. He's tenacious. We used to say the same of Michael Brown, lest we forget.

Tainio and Huddelstone could make a good central partnership. Tainio had a couple of good games in the middle a couple of seasons ago. Remember the game against Chelsea when Mido was sent off. Lots of good passing and running. He has the tenacity needed and should do well with Thudd using his vision. More time on the ball in the european games suited him well last year. Something different anyway.

Thats like saying Chimbonda shouldn't play RB because he was bprity crap when he played at CB.

The same has happened to Ghaly and neither have realy been given a good chance at playing CM.

And im still saying Kaboul as our defencive or holding CM is worth a shot. I would even play Gardner at the back to see if it works untill King is back then he plays instead of Gardner

Tanio is a good freund so i like him. the only player we have with a bit of fight about him.

oh and i don't think i could stand watching malb constantly give the ball away any more so not only do i not wat him centre mid, i don't want him on the field or even the bench.

This is where Tottenham are comical. Go to another forum and post this thread and watch them laugh! When you are debating a best central midfield and the 2 names mentioned are Teemu Tainio and Steed Malbranque teams must be scared shit!

Lets face it, Tainio is a player who looks to give his all, but quite frankly his all isn't good enough. He comes across as a hard man, but he rarely does it and when he does he's far too obvious when trying to break someones foot. His passing is apparantly his main attribute according to Spurs fans, I don't see it, he can be far too sloppy and for me adds little or nothing to the team.

Steed Malbranque, now here is a player I had massive hopes for, loved him as a player at Fulham and thought he was a top class player. Ok he shows it occasionally but more often than not he likes to drift wing to wing sideways rather than a great deal forward, with his head down and without really knowing where anyone is or he seems to be going! Occasionally he pulls it off, soo often he doesn't.

Well , we have tried every other permutation...

It is getting to the point where I am thinking we might have nothing to lose by playing Kieran McKenna and Jamie O'Hara. I know that they are untested at any level above U21 international (McKenna) or League One (O'Hara), but they compliment one another wonderfully and are able to work together as a unit, and God knows that is what we are lacking.
