Why is he continually played as a left midfielder when his true position should be a full back.
He covers more ground and puts in more tackles than any of our current full backs.
Imagine the neat passes he can make from the defence to the midield on the counter. He is of age an experience as well as being able to possess the skill to play on each side.
I think when we get the king back and make a left midfield and CD signings he should be given a go.

full back? yes he is good and probably been on of the best players in our side this season but fullback?

Steeds main part of his game is getting forward, getting into the box and coming up with goals now and then, sticking him at Fullback would lose a fair crack of his game, if anything he should be shifted over into CM and see what he can do in there

You're right - he'd make a better fullback than winger (made a fantastic sliding tackle yesterday bless him) but as I say about once a week on SC he still doesn't have the pace and vision to be upper Premiership quality

After the howler against Sevilla in the UEFA I don't want to see him anywhere in defence

Steed's problem is that he isn't athletic enough. He'd be a disaster at fullback, as they need to get up and down the pitch for 90 mins. I really can't see Steed bombing on and overlapping etc. His stregth is his creativity and tenacity. Other GK or CB, I think FB is the role Steed is least suited to.

Yeah man all that said, I'd rather Malbranque than chimbonda as a full back.

Chimbonda is a liability, he may get the odd goal now and then which is a blessing but his defensive awareness is bilwilderd.

Malbranques inability to stay on a wing might prove to be a problem...

This and the 'David Villa wants to come to Spurs' thread have provided great comedy relief in a gloom-and-doom week.

All things considered I would say that Steed has been our top oerformer so far this season.

All things considered. And I have considered them at great length. I have come to the conclusion that although full frontal nudity is a fantastic thing, full-frontal-nudity has no clue when it comes to football.
