Can't say I've seen him play. Sounds decent, but I have to admit, I kind of concluded that we'd not be signing him if indeed UTD have him as their #1 target.

He doesn't look exceptionally explosive or quick. I think that is one key player aspect we are missing in our attacking quartet.

Can't understand why united need this guy - they have so many players that can play in his position.

Because they have money to burn and Mourinho will spend it all whether he needs to or not...

Indeed. He clearly has a good enough squad to accomplish something. City's squad is better on paper but Manu is underperforming at the moment.

He'll be in a long queue of talented player scrabbling for a couple of places if he goes to Utd.

Who's place will he take here?

I think he'd be a different type of player to what we already have whereas at Utd he be in the same mould as some they already have on the books. Our main wide right option seems to be Sissoko which hasn't yielded much. Lamela, for my money is more effective infield.

I see it as competing with Lamela here and Mata there.

Mourinho is so spoilt for choice that he can also push Rashford or Lingaard out on the right. He could even try Martial out there. The only others in our setup who I could see being tried out there are KWP and Trippier which is a bit of a stretch. I suppose Son can do a job out there but we're not exactly flush with options.

Well yeah maybe but if United are after him then Mourinho obviously has a plan for him.

Mourinho is like a kid in a candy store. He wants all the sweeties. He's already said he's at a disadvantage because he only had 300m to spend in the last window :).

He is a small chap - 5.7" in the old currency. Poch likes his players big and strong. He just does not strike me as someone we would target unless the bloke is on HGH injections.
