So, wasn't there ITK about us being close on someone the other day, but it was under wraps as another club thought they were equally close? Could this be it?

You could be right. If it is him, I wonder if we'll have another Sissoko situation on our hands

I'd be surprised if we pulled the trigger on Malcom when our preferred options still haven't gone anywhere. Plus the comment from Herc yesterday suggests we've cooled on him anyway.

Exactly this. Two dislikes of my opinion, despite there being a disagree rating. Maybe it’s just me they dislike. :D

perhaps they are now anti Toby because of the latest news and rated you on your avtar. I'm sure I only get likes because my avtar nothing to do with my post:ROFLMAO:

or it generally is a mistake, phones and pads are the result of a lot of neg ratings. I got a WTF rating on the thread I started about Alan Gilzean when he was 1st diagnosed the brain tumour, received the rating the day he died

Anybody else nervous when they hear “we are in for better than this guy “ when this player is clearly available, talented and interested in us and can only assume the better player is a very complicated deal that is more likely to not come off as it is o happen?

think their was ITK that Poch wasn't as keen due to the attitude he showed once he never got a move at the end of January, whether that's changed I don't know, or whether the news now is just click bait putting his name out there again

I never saw that from JJ, not disagreeing just commenting. I just thought we needed probably 1 addition to the winger/AM group and probably couldn't fit both in especially after seeing the limited playing time Lucas got once he got here.

Lucas only got limited playing time with us, because it was very hard to get him up to speed after only 79 mins of action while at PSG last season. it most probably become harder because of him settling in to a completely new culture in one of the worst winters this country has suffered in my lifetime, and also a good chance he didn't get up to speed with what Poch required, something Poch couldn't of guessed before signing him.

lets hope with a full pre-season behind him, and the absence of Son, we get to see Lucas have a blinding start

Not sure about anyone else but I had assumed that Malcom was a solid option in January but once it didn't pan out we opted for Lucas as a very similar player but at a much better price and therefore I didn't ever expect us to go back in for Malcom.

Martial & Zaha are not similar to him IMO.

People are overlooking Lucas, that kid is gonna be great this season.

He's 26 next month, hardly a kid but yes, I was under the same impression. Us getting Lucas meant we were no longer after Malcom.

I was using the term kid loosely, it's not meant to suggest anyone is really young altho I'm 36 so all our players are younger than me

I recall one of the ITKs saying back in Jan that we were interested in getting both.

Are we still allowed to have a mass panic? I don't want to burst the panic bubble fun.

Everton are not in the market for Bordeaux winger Malcom.

The Blues were strongly linked with the Brazilian attacker last night but the ECHO understands reports are wide of the mark.

Everton were said to have been in "advanced talks" with the French club and that a meeting was set to take place on Thursday.

But it is believed there has been no contact over Malcom.

New Everton manager Marco Silva and director of football Marcel Brands have agreed on their transfer targets but have yet to secure any new signings.

As the Blues prepare to face Bury in tonight's second pre-season game of the summer, no deals are imminent.

Everton must also reduce the size of their squad and following the departures of Joel Robles, Ramiro Funes Mori, Wayne Rooney and Luke Garbutt, on loan, are looking to move on more players before the end of August

Seems an odd story to make up with absolutely no substance. Makes me wonder if Malcom has chosen someone else so they are backtracking on their interest
