That seems crazy
When I first heard the story, I thought the fine went to just the CL clubs, which was really crazy. But now that I realize that Spurs will be getting a piece of the fine - it all seems reasonable to me :)

But, it really is a case of the rich getting richer. Not sure what else they would do with the fine money.

Yeah, my initial thought was financial fair play my arse, but that the selfish, hypocrit football fan in me wasn't really complaining. But thinking a bit further I can't see what else UEFA should do with the money. It's better to pump it back as prize money than enriching the Platinis and Twatinis of UEFA.

What a great idea, give the money to the teams that really, really need it - the other Champions League clubs! Maybe they'll give most of it to Liverpool, Monaco and PSG to help them comply with FFP themselves...

Fortunately Liverpool won't get anything from this first deposit. It is only for clubs in CL or Europa last season...

It's only about £200k per club, so virtually nothing in football terms, although it could make a decent enough difference to some of the teams in the early qualifying rounds of the EL I guess.

Man City's CL squad complete with 'restrictions'... (at the bottom of the page)

http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2015/clubs/club=52919/index.html

The one 'club-trained' player is Boyata - with Richards on loan he's the only player in their squad that counts as club trained so has to be included, even though he probably won't even play - and four association trained players being Hart, Milner, Lampard and Clichy. Only Nastasic, Scott Sinclair and Richard Wright haven't been included. They're perhaps a bit light at centre back, but otherwise as predicted this sanction hasn't really affected them.

WELL DONE UEFA.

Unless they suffer a few injuries.

Unless they suffer a few injuries.

They had quite a few injuries to key players last year (Aguero, Toure, Kompany) but still only fielded 22 players in the CL (including Rodwell, who only made one appearance).

All they need is 4 injuries to that 21 and they are down to the minimum 17 players for a matchday squad. Then they will have to start using their youth players.
I agree though it was a crap punishment.
