Carr was a sturdy like f*cker and a bloody good at defending and going forward. KWP may become a better player but for now he’s too weak and lacks positional awareness. I want him to succeed with us but he needs to be handled with care, a bit like Sessegnon will be... not chucked in at the deep end.

Not in his first season he wasn’t, he was very inconsistent and could be quite shakey. And he was only playing as the legend that was Dean Austin (??????) was injured.

That was the season we got tonked 6-1 and 7-1 in league as well (Newcastle in one of Keegan’s last matches as manager was one of them who thrashed us with Ferdinand and Shearer up top). Not saying Carr’s fault but our defence was pretty crap that year.

Wasn’t until his second full season he really started becoming consistently top notch and just grew from that.
