System wasn't great, allowing the youngest member of our defence an overload on his side every time, leaving him to make the decision when to go out wide, and often left 2-1 was pretty poor and never really changed.

Sissoko offered little in helping us keep the ball but again our movement was lethargic and laboured. Eriksen and Kane jogged about for most of the game, and bizarrely, despite being our best CM (again) Winks was the one to go off (Poch does love a unit)
Think i would rather see a proper DM in there, with Sissoko phased out.

We didn’t play badly. They played well. They’re the best side on the planet, but they couldn’t finish today and we defended with great intensity, finished with precision, found some mental strength and nicked a point.

We rode the run of the ball, unquestionably, but you have to be tough to keep that lot from scoring 4-5.

We were shocking, I don't understand how you can even try to say otherwise. And it's not because Man City are that much better than us man vs man. It was down to our woefully narrow setup and tactics.

OK enough about VAR...
But did GLC touch the ball, now that is the question?!
He took the free-kick we got at the end where we should have put it in the box. Instead he played it back to KWP (I think) and it ended up with Lloris booting it up the field back to City where we had the original free-kick.

Poch saying we can’t be compared to City in our respective phases.

Not on here Poch, not on here. We’re supposed to smacking them on their own gaff and not doing what we’ve done the last three years and fight scrap and nick point lay-off them when we can.

Or something

One thing this game highlighted is that despite the excellent business we did this summer we still lack a top class No. 6. We had no control of the midfield whatsoever.

The defenders mostly did their jobs well but when a team with the quality of City are so utterly rampant there will always been opportunities that open up for them. I really rate Winks and think he can be an excellent regista against teams that concede possession to us, but when we're up against it we need a player who can both physically dominate and also play a bit. We don't really have that option in the squad.

In a massive game like this, the one thing I’d expect is that Harry Kane steps up. Like he wasn’t there. Invicible!
I really don't think you can blame Kane for not performing today, given absolutely nothing to work with.

Okay, lovely relief at getting a barely deserved point from this game aside, I wish we would stop trying to play out from the back when we play quality sides who press high up the pitch. There's nothing wrong with playing long when the ball is in our defensive third and we're getting pressed: okay, so we might lose the ball if Kane and co. only hold it up successfully 50% of the time, but we lose the ball just as much when we try and short-pass our way out of danger at the back and I'd much rather lose the ball in their half than I would in ours.

Gary Neville and Jamie Redknapp (and Tyler) must post on here because they seem to reflect the same opinion. “Did you think of doing this, Poch?”

No he did what he does and gets results you fucking mugs

Or something

He always says that, think we could spend 200 mill and he'll say city, Liverpool , United are on a different level.

I'll assume it's just to keep the pressure off
