I personally think we've got a superb mentality that got us through today. This is evidenced time and time again by the amount of times we come back from goals down as well as getting so many important goals late on in matches. You very rarely see us get obliterated on the score line.

Our defending was pretty average and in attack we were very poor apart from one decent move for the first goal. They still had plenty of opportunities and really should have been out of sight.

I think we could have done much better today and caused them a lot more problems than we did, however there are still mitigating circumstances at this stage. New signings are not integrated, Eriksen situation is still up in the air, we're still not sure of our shape, and of course we were still without a couple of important players. I think that's what Poch was trying to get at in the interview.

We were unlucky to get this game so early in our season because of that. All things considered, a performance to quickly forget but a really solid result that could make things interesting later in the season.
It was very poor but those are valid points.

I've seen us play much better and lose! In the end the league table only remembers the points!

We will only get better from here and can hopefully get a win against Newcastle and carry some confidence into the scum game which will be extremely tough. We certainly wont be able to perform like that again at the Emirates! Anything like that in the NLD will be unacceptable!

Excuse me if this has already been said earlier in the thread, I read up to page 8 and then when I came back to my pooter we were on page 99.

With recent VAR decisions going in our favour against Citeh and looking at the way the game has been skewed in favour of Sky's favourites since the beginning of the the Premier League are we witnessing the beginning of the end of "the big teams getting all the decisions"? It feels that way to me.
In terms of 50/50 decisions that refs bottle maybe, but overall the better teams attack more so are more likely to get into positions for decisions to go their way so it'll probably go the other way. It should be the end of blatant favouritism though

5 touches in their box over 90 mins, have we ever had less? Great point but awful performance, worrying as it doesn't seem like we are progressing. Something's not right behind the scenes.

mate its man city. I wouldn't worry about it. Most of the time we are this bad against city at their place. We just like to conveniently forget!

5 touches is low but maybe not as low as you would think. Its rare to get many touches n the opponents box in most games. For me the crazier stat is how often Man city got it into ours.

Ultimately, Man city our the best team I've ever seen play in the PL. Their bench, skill, and organisation is fantastic and frankly hard not to wow at. If you actually get past their press and into their own half, they can actually be quite vulnerable. Easier said than done.

The game was actually very similar to the last time we drew 2-2 against City. Absolute fluke!

It was an analogy - sorry was I not allowed to follow your lead on that?

You seem very determined to defend to the death your right to call Spurs fucking losers. Seems more important than just... you know... supporting them?

It's very odd. Don't understand it. sorry.

You don’t understand a lot do you?
Are you thick or what? I’ve already tried to take the words back , I’m not defending what I said I’m trying to say I was wrong and it was said in the heat of the moment.
Don’t reply to this please, if you don’t understand I can’t be bothered to do this with you any longer,I’ve had better debates with the dog to be honest ?

I agree as you'd certainly expect us to be on top of our game for that one. We'll have everyone available bar Foyth and Alli and Lo Celso should be ready to start.

d I am loving hearing J.Redknap and G Neville waffling on about how wonderful City are and how woeful we are . If we can get everybody fit and the transfer window out of the way we will improve City could not play any better and its their fault if they don't put away chances . Also the sight of Pep almost in tears was Wonderful . I hope he's in tears at the end of the season as I have no respect for City because what they have achieved has been thru more than 1.3 billion pounds in a short spa
If you can't finish your chances you can't be playing too well. At the end of the day we played well enough to draw 2-2. The result doesn't lie. If city were more clinical we would have lost, if we were less clinical than we would have lost. But the result is absolutely fair because neither of those hypotheticals are true

If by " "the big teams getting all the decisions" you mean refs and linos ignoring some of the blatant things certain players do and letting teams like City, 'Pool, Chelsea etc. get away with the niggling little fouls, the "unseen" and unmentioned gaming of the rules and the sneaky little hands on the ball in the ruck in front of the goal, I agree 100% and it's about time the playing field was levelled.

Let's hope VAR doesn't get corrupted into ignoring the things that the refs have ignored for years.

I mean the main advantage we have is Arsenal are not city. They can't control a game in that way. No one can, our naivety of always trying to play a certain way gets us in trouble. But no way Arsenal can control a match so effectively.

City thought they’d won ittttt

But Tottenham pulled it backkkk

Sissoko in the middle

Harry in attackkkkk

Coys. Great performance. Unlucky to leave with only a point. City are a decent team and Pep is doing amazing on their budget.

Think they will surprise a few teams this season at Maine Road

That game was a carbon copy of our 2-2 draw there a few years back where they absolutely battered us from start to finish yet we somehow came away with a point. Jump in the van lads, get that peddle on the floor and don’t look back!! COYS

We sure dodged the bullet today, We werew outclassed in nearly every department and we were also lucky that Lamela's blatant penalty was not given. Walter- Peters not ready for such competitive games. Great to jinx Citeh oncew again towards the end. COYS!!!!

Hopefully with the likes of SAF and others not able to influence blokes sitting in a darkened room 100 miles away the way he used to be able to influence referees or mobs of players not being able to surround and browbeat blokes on the end of a radio link those days are gone.

KWP for me man of the match 2nd half didnt do much wrong
I mean he largely did well in the second half, and kept Stirling quiet. But, was the main person at fault for the first goal, and was clumsy in possession a bit too much.

I think Sanchez grew very strongly into the game, Moura also had a very good cameo. I would probably give it to Lamela though, who was far from perfect but typified our performance with what he gave on the pitch.

First I just want to coment on how extremely good City were. They should have killes this game early on. Impressed that we manage to get a point. Ndombele looks as a player that will become very important for us. Other wise I thought Lamela struggled even If he scored. He can not be a starter. Winksy im sad to say looked a couple of numbers too small as well.

With that said, this point was a bonus and Son will be back against Newcastle. I think we have missed him alot!

Sissoko was in the wrong position as well for the first goal but mainly it was an insane cross from KDB.
