Not saying you are wrong, but don't the rules state that if the defender is the last man and commits a foul it is a red card offence? If so, it has to be a red.

Unfortunately agree.

Tarnished a good showing from him.

The lack of ruthlessness from anyone competing for 3rd/4th is a massive opportunity for us. If one team can get a grip and go on a run, they could be out of sight of 5th by January.

Very true. It's surprising, but no one has looked the part yet. City and Chelsea are nailed on, but really, 3rd and 4th are up for grabs. Man Utd may have a forward line that is terrifying but they are so poor defensively. Liverpool and ARsenal, both look a little toothless too. 4th, really can be done this year. The fortunate run of games up to Christmas is important. We get through those on a winning run and we could really make a push this year.

Look to almost any game under AVB or Poch and the system that they want to play just does not suit any of our current strikers. It's as simple as that.

Once the management accept that and buy players to suit the system rather than arse about face then perhaps we might frighten a few sides, but in all honesty i am surprised Levy hasn't tried to change our name to Tottenham Nil.

We have scored just a paltry ten PL goals and four of those in one game! Some on here want Ade dropped and some Soldado but in truth just who do they expect can come in and score a dozen goals this season with the current 4-2-3-1 system at a price that we could afford?

Bingo. Three successive managers have pretty much persisted with one up top, and it hasn't worked whichever 'one' they pick. We don't have a player that can perform that role.

Best game I've seen Soldado play for us was in the Europa League under AVB, when he played with Lennon on one wing and Townsend on the other (with Lamela, I think, just behind him). He got good service all night and scored three. Looked a completely different player to the one we see today, who is all to often starved of service.

Why do managers continue to try and force players to work within a certain system, when it's so much easier to build a system that suits the players you've actually got?

Gary Neville said we are too easy to play against, he's right.

Always have been in the modern era. I remember Paul Robinson saying the same thing after he joined. Spurs were considered a nice, easy game.

No surprise really. The best players, the ones that have that all important mental edge, will always gravitate to the bigger, better clubs as that's where they will get rewarded.

But when hasnt that been the case with us we are far too easy for teams especially the big Guns to steam roller us.
I think we need to adopt a more small team mentality against these sides until we have the right players/tactics to hurt them.

When we had King, Gallas, Parker and Rafa...when we had captain materials and fighters in our team which goes back to us needing players with a winners mentality, that's our problem.

Your not wrong there regarding mentality and fighters if Im not mistaken didnt all them take part when we beat the gooners at the emirates.
I do miss those days was a great time watching us play some good stuff especially being at the San Siro watching us beat Milan.
But its going to take a few transfer Windows and some dollar to identify and purchase the right kind of players to take us forward before we can really see pochs team in full flow.

When has a 4-5-1 ever worked for us ? The sooner we move away from this formation the better

Its also going to need a coach who stays longer than 5 minutes, most of our problems are mentality based, expectation based and problems with squad building, we've gone through so many players who in turn have seen 3/4 coaches in 2 seasons that the position of Head Coach cant be seen as a serious one, every season i want to see evolution but we end up with revolution, it needs to stop or we keep treading water.

Its how we play in the formation, not the formation that is at fault.
