Re-watched the big moments (especially Valencia not getting a second yellow and then pretending to be injured, Pogba's push on Dembele and Pogba's non-booking for a deliberate trip to stop us running into the box) on iPlayer to see if the commentators were saying about it.

Of course they said nothing.

The Valencia non-sending off exemplifies just how much of the decisions United get. Every match it happens and the media never say anything about. The missus supports United so I usually end up watching a lot of United games on TV and it happens against everyone else as well. What makes it worse is that the referees seem to like shafting us. The Foster time-wasting for 70 odd minutes before getting booked comes to mind.

I don't know what's more infuriating - the fact referees fawn over United or the fact the media are completely blind to it. Murphy and commentators are muppets at the best of times but how they can't see what's obvious to us. The fact no one will call it out means it will keep going on. Graham Roberts came out and called the referee for what he was on twitter and ending us getting abuse from our own fans. How often get delisted for poor decisions? Almost never happens.

I would have loved Poch to just come out say it "Referees are either scared of United or continually favour them. Fine me, I don't care. Someone needs to say it". I'm sure Levy would pay it.

My commentators mentioned it. Jonathan Pearce and Clive Allen.

Well this is pathetic, Are we really having an entire thread about blaming refs for yesterday? Jesus christ, SC.

While I agree Valencia should have been off (twice), Trippier could have got into more trouble for raking Sanchez’s leg and Jan could have given away a peno for his push in the box (Lingard made the most of it, though)

Taylor was bad, but we were worse - after 20 minutes...

Kinda agree we didn't get the luck in the decisions.

but to be frank it wasnt just yesterday. our last 2 games we conceeded soft penalties. the kind that we have seen not given, and the kind of dele had won it everyone would be screaming he dived.

at the end of the day, we need the mental fortitute to rise over such decisions. to fight to the end. my biggest disappointment was our lack of spirit.

We have as good as we got. It was a physical game and nice that the ref let the game flow.

You can't blame the ref for yesterday's defeat. It was down to Dembele making a mistake, not having an effective plan B and various other factors.

Most refs are doing are trying to do an honest job. They shouldn't be called out for supposed favouritism by pundits. If they make a BIG mistake it should be looked at, but you can't blame them for every minor error.

We need to look inwards not outwards, a victim mentality is just as bad as a loser mentality. Valencia being sent off may have swung things in our favour but can you honestly say that's the reason we lost? We need to become stronger.

I think it is difficult to be objective during the game. I think he gave them a lot of soft freekicks and was not going to book Herrera unless he stabbed someone.

Our players also got away with using their arms to out muscle opponents a few times.

I thought Valencia should have been off for that "tackle" on Dele. Both feet off the ground, scissor motion... Given that it was very early on, it would definitely have changed the game.

That's not to say that we don't get away with our fair share of shithousery these days as well, but I don't think context should be relevant to instances of dangerous play.

We didn't get all the decisions yesterday but that had nothing to do with referees being biased or whatever.

You’re right. It would have put them down to 10’mennti match us who’d had Trippy sent off.
