Lloris was great BUT BUT BUT did anyone notice that not one of his twenty or so long clearances actually went to a spurs player.

Also over 80% ot tottenhams throw-ins went to a United player!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spurs throw in's are a massive pet hate of mine. Come for the fucking ball!!!! Especially when we're trying to wind a game down and no one will take responsibility for getting possession or wants the ball. I know, let's fucking hosh it up the wing for Lennon to compete with against their fucking 7ft centre back. Great idea.

I would say its not a penalty, there wasn't enough contact from Lloris to bring Young down who was jumping over Lloris. As one of the BT commentators said (probably Owen...) if he doesn't jump out the way its a penalty.
It was Owen. Given the number of times ManU have benefited from Young's dives I think this should be enjoyed with a glass of Schadenfreude.

And fucking Welbeck.

I'm absolutely amazed United didn't get a pen from Webb though. I thought after the first one that he would give the next if it was marginal.

Also I'm really annoyed we let Welbeck score because I think he's the most overrated player in the Country.

Agreed: had to check that I hadn't been sniffing any of Nigella's icing sugar. Luckily, hadn't soiled myself watching the last twenty minutes, either. RESULT!

I see red nose mark 2 had a rip off about the so called young penalty, but I didn't hear any comment about the penalty that wasn't given when Smalling handled the ball when no one was within 20 yards of him

Our throw-ins have been diabolical for ages. Nearly all of them go backwards which I don't like, I think it comes across as very negative when we never try to throw forward when we get a throw in the opposition's half, and whenever we've tried to throw forward it's gone straight to the opponents. Something has to be done about that.

Not really. It's not on for another two and a half hours and they had highlights of Arsenal v Chelsea on an hour after that game finished.

Was the Arsenal v Chelsea game also on a bank holiday when they might conceivably be a bit short staffed? I genuinely can't remember, but it was New Years Day so I think the conspiracy theories are a bit embarrassing on this occasion.

In summary: Fuck it, we won, I don't care.

Oh, I'm not pedaling any conspiracy theories, I was just saying that it's entirely plausible for a match that finished at around 7:15 could be edited and ready for broadcast at the top of a programme that started at 10:50. If anything I thought Swansea v Man City would/should be first on.

I'm not completely familiar with MotD's edit procedure, but I would imagine at the very least the times of the highlights are marked or logged, after which it would be very easy to pull them out and edit together. I'd be surprised if they use tape VTs, so the actual delivery from edit to broadcast would be a lot quicker now.

:smug:

Influential Manchester United fanzine Red Issue has called on manager David Moyes to "sort out" players guilty of diving, citing examples by players Adnan Januzaj, Ashley Young, Danny Welbeck and Wayne Rooney.

"No-one minds MUFC losing - that's football. Losing whilst disgracing the club through cheating is another matter," it said.
