Manchester United are closing in on a £60million deal for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld.

Source: Mirror

At this point I’d bite their arm off for £60m to get our own purchases going.

So if true, that will no doubt raise the questions of Martial, Shaw, etc. and what potential deals may be discussed as a result of Toby going that way.

Although knowing the Spurs and Man U transfer dealings in the past, can't see them allowing anyone to come out way!

When we want to buy one of their players, we're a direct rival and they don't want to strengthen us. When they want our players, they want us to bend over as we're a small club and said player should be allowed to join a big team. Stuff 'em I say. The only agreement should be £60m plus selling us Martial. If not, lets sell him to City for £30m

Hopefully true, means we'll actually have some money to buy someone finally

Understand your sentiment entirely. However, we must act in accordance with the hand we're dealt. Point is: Alderweireld wants to leave, and Poch has lost faith in him. The issue therefore is Alderweireld and not Man U. Under this circumstance, getting £60 is okay. Can't cut off our nose to spike our face. Levy would do exactly the same as Man U is doing, were it the other way.

This to me is the ultimate arse fuck. We are selling one of our top players with 4 days left, to our bItter rivals. We want Martial and they have absolutely refused to sell him to us. Terrible business makes us look so weak and small.

The point is that we will struggle to finish in the top four, if we sell our best players to direct rivals. We are substantially weaker without Toby, but he wants to go and Poch doesn’t believe in flogging a dead horse. So sell him to a top European club instead I say!

We have money to spend so it's not a necessity to sell him right now, and in all probability it is too late to spend on the quality we need. And I don't mean Grealish or Cook for 30 million.

People have been saying we need champions league to get quality players in. But where are they?

We have money mate with all that TV dosh sloshing about every EPL club has it but as yet we have chosen not to spend any but we will I'm sure this week.
Yes for 60m if true I'm sure levy will blink at that price and it's probably best to take it especially with time jogging on.

After being thrashed in last freindly- unlikely to be signing anyone in a paper thin first team sqaud-all other teams strengthened- and selling one of our best players to a rival- this has to be one of the worst windows we have experienced-what the f.ck is going on?

There is absolutely no doubt that if we don't sell Toby now he'll go for 25m when his clause kicks in or substantially less than Utd are reportedly prepared to pay in January. It doesn't weaken us that much - we finished 3rd last season mostly without him. Maybe it strengthens Utd but that remains to be seen. Mourinho has all sorts of CBs to choose from and they were very good defensively last season. We need funds to strengthen ourselves and Martial isn't the only player who can do that. We need a progressive passing CM more than we need Martial so I'm OK if we don't sign Martial but address our main priorities.

And martial wants to stay I’m sure he loves Jose?

Wait until Friday evening before we ask or answer that question

It'll be the last straw with levy for me if we sell those rotten bastards a quality player and one doesn't come in return.

There's a real chance here to mix it with the big boys, but it looks like as usual, he'll take their pitty money and we'll end up buying some other crap with it, if at all.

Yeah can’t wait to see what desperate, over priced, last minute crap we sign this time!
I understand the frustration as time is not our friend but let's see what comes in before we spark up and if it is crap as you say then you will have some justification to complain.
