Fantastic deal. Shaw is 22 and if we can get him to his full potential he is quick , technical and has potential to be much better than rose

Cant see it, his leg break has effected him mentally, plus no way we will stump up his wages.

Up to him though, isn't it. Sit on the bench and earn a lot, or earn a tad less but still a lot and at least have a look in.
The deal looked iffy, but with him being only 22 it looks PHAT!

Never gonna happen. This actually is a pretty fair deal. It's nothing like the Campbell Berba deal. For one thing Shaw would be permament, has experience and can still be moulded into a top LB.

You sound very confident. His injury record is hopeless and some players lose form and never get it back. If we can't get Sessegnon I'd sooner pass on Shaw and maybe try for someone like Tierney.

If Rose wants to leave (to any club) then i would ask myself this.

  • He will be turn 28 before the start of next season
  • If we can get forty million for a twenty eight year old who wants to leave thats good business
  • What effect on results did he have when he got injured at the turn of this year? Remember we finished second
  • We would be getting a player five years younger in return, plus a big chunk of change
  • We would be getting a player who our manager knows and has worked with before and who has mutual respect (does Rose)
  • We would also have a replacement and forty million to spend on strengthening other parts of the team (which we desperately need to do)
  • We would be getting rid of a player who does not want to be at the club, and may be seen as a disruptive influence
I'd snatch Jose's hand off at this deal if it were anywhere near true.

The same could be said of Rose surely?

Rose's injury record is nothing like Shaw's. Rose has had one long term injury - Shaw has had loads.

Define "loads"?

From what i have seen he has had one ankle injury since returning from breaking his leg. I make that two, although to bolster your argument "loads" would suit you i guess?

If you against selling Rose then say so but don't make shit up.

It is my opinion that we should just get the most we can for Rose, not with Shaw.

Given Pochs demonstrable expertise with FBs, we should be scouting the best physique and 200m runners as secondary parameters after technicals. Give Poch a young left back with say Zaha's physical profile, bang, world class FB in a few years.

Rather get £60m for Rose, spend £30m(+ probably) on aforementioned 17-21 year old elite talent. Which is Sessegnon we all hope.

Shaw has had long term ankle ligament, groin and hamstring injuries as well as fractures. I'm not against selling Rose if he wants out, but I wouldn't want Shaw. If he's worth a squad place why don't Utd. want him. As for your 'don't make shit up' comment, I think it's probably best to ignore that, which is what it deserves.

Rather have Bertrand, Shaw is a permanent crock and would drain wages.

Thing is you are just making these injuries up. I can't find any media reports on these phantom injuries aside from his serious one and an ankle injury short term.

Jose doesn't want him in the same way as he didn't want Lukaku or De Bruyne, your making it sound like Jose has cornered the market in getting rid of crap players which is miles from reality.

Anyway we will have to agree to disagree on this but either way Rose is off.
