Is Martial a significant upgrade on Son? I don't know where it leaves Son if we sign him although I think he might be a bit of an upgrade. Conversely, Toby is a big upgrade on what Utd have although Lindlehof and Bailley haven't really settled yet.
My thought is they would both play in the side, not to replace Son. Why replace someone who can get you 20 goals a season?

Then we don't speak to them about Toby or Danny & take the chance that a team in Europe will come in after our TW closes in Aug.

Probably an unpopular opinion but I’d take the cash and try to bring bale back.

Can play anywhere across the front line, can cover for kane. Yes he has injury problems but still gets loads of goals and can win games on his own. With a Pochettino pre season he will look like a gladiator and play like a prince. And WHAT a left foot.

Edit: Bale, De Ligt and an all action CM of Pochettino’s choice would make us terrifying

He may well do. But I feel like they want rid. And you aren’t going to say you want to leave when the manager is thinking about his team for the final.

You have to admit though, those three would make us title contenders....?

I thought we'd had ITK saying Toby had priced himself out of any moves, he's come back to us with his tail between his legs and Poch has blanked him?

You are forgetting that we won't be the only ones strengthening.

We Ligt is a mere boy. May be good but he won't win us a title.
Bale is a worldy and, if he played 30 games, could.
We don't even know who the 3rd is and, considering Bale won't play 30+ games I think you're 2nd comment is optimistic ;)

I'm not against bringing Bale back. The feel good factor alone could raise us 3 levels without him kicking a ball.

It sounds like an afternoon drinking in the sun has got me talking crazy judging by the responses :)

You have to aim high.

Btw, not saying De Ligt makes us a title contender. We already have Vertonghen and Sanchez. De Ligt just feels like a fabulous option to go into a 3 or cover in a 4.

I'm not even that bothered about us getting Martial but Man Utd have a long history of nicking our star players and only offering garbage players in return. We need to draw a line in the sand.

Not fussed about martial either. Seems like he doesnt have the drive to get better. Maybe someone like poch could motivate him but i don't know.

It's a sign how far we've come . The days when we rolled over to SAF and the Mancs have evolved, Carrick transfer was very frustrating, but now we have a lot more power. Yanited still one of the biggest clubs in the world, and certainly amongst the highest payers. IF they sign Toby, Levy will either extract a very high price, or get Martial in the deal at some price.
If Toby really wants away, then let him go, but on our terms, not theirs.
At least City had the class to pay a world record price for a right back, rather than doing biz on the cheap.
Martial , or £HUGE, or DO ONE.
