Fcuk it, sign Martial with a condition that if he signs they can sign Toby... Then sell him to someone else for £1 more

If we want Martial and they don’t want to send him our way then fuck em and sell Toby elsewhere
Exactly☝️I feel bad for Martial (and Rashford to an extent) he must feel desperate to get away from Mourinho, and there are plenty of other clubs we can sell Toby to.

Unfortunately there are only a handful of clubs who are willing to pay what we want and give him the contract that he wants.

Hopeful we can do a deal for Martial thou.

Exactly, we have to take a stand at some point and stop rolling over for the ‘big’ clubs. If they won’t sell to us then why the hell should we sell to them

I wouldn't let a news story bother me. Levy won't sell to them unless it's good business for spurs.

Personally I have always seen this as two separate deals so this headline means nothing

I actually had a (probably rather pathetic) thought about that earlier. The press, Mourinho & United are so far up eachother's arses, I could see them running with the whole "we won't swap" nonsense, making it look like we're blatantly not getting what we want. Then agree to sell us Martial if we agree to sell them Alderweireld. I know it sort of makes no sense, and seems like the same thing. But they'd paint a picture that makes it look loke only United got what they actually wanted.

It makes sense in my head

Me I don't think we are selling with that little respect and collaboration. That's the sort of thing that pisses Levy off.
Unless he pays some minor club in eastern Germany to buy Martial, then buy Martial from them in January.

The deal makes sense; Mourinho doesn't appear to see Martial as a starter, therefore if he's not a good fit, then why not sell? They apparently want Toby, so a deal involving the 2 moving in opposite direction is a good thing for all concerned.

If we want to be big time we need to handle this properly.

Levy to United; You can have Tobes but we want Marsh in return.
United to Levy; We want Tobes but we're not selling to you as you're a rival
Levy to United; Click bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Fuck them. Fuck Toby. If United are gonna behave like they're still a 90's super power fuck them. I'd rather Toby rots in the reserves for a year than sell him to those arrogant ****s with nothing in return

Not for them. If they sell Martial to us and he prospers, it could potentially mean us cementing a top four place, increasing our fanbase & marketability etc. Which might cause trouble for them long term.

If we sold Toby to them, ultimately he wouldn't change the status quo in any significant way.

Whilst it's only a couple of players. Man Utd really don't want to be doing anything that could benefit us.

United will get one of/the best defenders in the game right now. We'd get a potentially decent/top forward player.
Even with Matial in the deal, they're getting the best of the deal.
Just Toby and we're shooting ourselves in the foot.

I think it makes more sense to sell him to us than sell him abroad, we are the 6th richest club. If they sell him abroad and he does well, then the likes of City, Chelsea or Liverpool might buy him. That would hurt them much more.

Is Martial a significant upgrade on Son? I don't know where it leaves Son if we sign him although I think he might be a bit of an upgrade. Conversely, Toby is a big upgrade on what Utd have although Lindlehof and Bailley haven't really settled yet.
