It annoys me when people say because i live in East London (supposedly), i should support Orient or WH. But WHL is 3 miles from my house and Orient is 4.5 miles. Chingford is definatly Spurs territory as was Walthamstow when i was at school!

Grew up in Whitechapel, at school we split the teams up at break time with Arsenal down one end and Spurs down the other, was always pretty much 50/50. That was 25-30 years ago though...

Im in St Albans and ive always known there to be a healthy amount of Spurs here and nearby towns like Hatfield, Watford etc Id say we are one of the most supported teams in this region.

Grew up in West Redbridge, Gants Hill, Woodford and it was pretty much 40% Spammers, 40% Spurs, 10% goons and the rest glory hunting Liverpool or United fans.
Map is pretty acurate

I grew up in Hatfield and I'd say that it was (when I were a lad) about 40% Spurs, 30% Goon, 20% Watford and other minor London makeweights including Chelsea and West Ham and the rest glory hunting reds of either persuasion.

I'm sure that our percentage has dropped significantly over the past 20 years with Chelscum making up a lot of ground.

Agree, i'm in Harpenden and there seems to be a high percentage of Spurs in the area. A couple of years ago the billboard on the side of The Horn pub (near St. Albans station) had a massive Spurs advert on the side. I think it was when the rebranding took place in 2005/2006 or whenever it was.

I take it you won more often than not? The NLD matters, even in the school playground.

My school was crawling with budding Man Utd bandwagonners when they were at the height of their dominance.

In Hackney it was always about Spurs and Arsenal. The exceptions tended be kids from Irish originating families who were usually Man Utd or Liverpool. As some have said in other threads, periods of time exist where particular clubs, through their success and media prominance seem to farm young minds and attract them. The two mentioned above had long periods of doing this but even Leeds had their time. Neutrals liking to watch us can only be good for attracting future Spurs fans. This map was not meant to be super serious but I shared it because my daughter flicked it to me knowing I'd be interested:)

Growing up in Cricklewood back then in the eighties you were either Spurs or Arsenal. One Estate in particular was almost exclusively Spurs (Westcroft Estate), any gooners would get their heads kicked in! I remember a sprinkling of QPR and Chelsea at School (not many at all), plenty of glory hunting Liverpool back then as you would expect. Many Liverpool fans from the Asian community too.

Nowadays, you notice many more kids in Chelsea shirts :-(

^ I know Westcroft well, having gone to school on Westbere Rd in the late 90's, early 2000's and was it largely Arsenal then I'm afraid :(

Harlow born and bred and when I was growing up, I always felt there was a pretty even spread between the three teams North/East London. I remember more Spammers than Goons though.

Now there's a Spurs shop there, I always associate Harlow as being Tottenham through and through (or is it because the shop rent in the Harvey Centre is not much) :p

It got Harrow right - mostly Chelsea and Arsenal, unfortunately

It's a real shame. When I was a kid Harrow was mainly Tottenham, Arsenal (proper fans) and QPR fans but now it's glory supporters who know sod all about Chelsea & Arsenal.

In the sixties in Islington it was mainly Arsenal(70%)
but moved to Finsbury and it was a more even split between
Arsenal and Spurs.
Never met a Spammer or a Chelsea supporter in those days.
QPR had a bit of a following due to the glam. players they had.

Hmm, seems Brent is clearly a Chelski area. I picked Spurs while I was living in Kent though.
