Linked to Marcos Rojo from Sporting Lisbon. 24 years old, strong defender who is pretty talented. He is left-footed which will naturally make some think he's not a good fit. Personally, I think Rojo (LCB) and Chiriches (RCB) as a backup to Vertonghen (LCB) and another stalwart at RCB sounds really balanced.

From a Daily Mail Article:

Moreno was one of Mexico's heroes in Tuesday night's draw with Brazil and Tottenham want to strengthen in defence with Michael Dawson, Younes Kaboul and Vlad Chiriches all expected to move on.

Tottenham have been linked with Real Madrid left-back Marcelo but that may prove too rich a deal. They are also monitoring Argentina and Sporting Lisbon defender Marcos Rojo.

Cardiff have also expressed an interest in Moreno, but have only offered around £4million for him.

Was wondering when this link would happen, surprised it took this long.

He's a talented guy. I would definitely be happy with his addition. It'd be nice to have him as a backup pairing with Chiriches given he is left-footed but is more commanding in terms of a physical presence.

Still holding some hope we'll grab Dier as well. Would like to see us add another young Englishman to the ranks, but I do think we also need a more immediate option at RCB.

He plays left back for Argentina so would presumably be used there primarily if we signed him, hope so, seems to love bombing forward, would be very happy with him and Moreno.

Any player who does a rabonna clearance in his own box (across his own goal no less) is not a player for me

Granted it's early in the game, but this guy does not look like a type of fullback Poch would be looking for. He flat out looks like a centerback being played out of position, much less a wingback.

Get rid of Dawson and Kaboul and have a central defence of Chirches, Vertonghen, Moreno/Lovren and this guy and we would be pretty well sorted

I think he read my post at halftime. Been far more dynamic and engaging in this half.

I like the look of him and it can't be a bad thing to have a left back that can play CB, that said there's plenty of good CB's and LB's around so we need to choose wisely

Lol at Vlad "expected to move on". On what basis?

I haven't managed to watch the Argies yet so know nothing at all about Rojo.

Agreed. He was all over the pitch in the second half. Aguero also should have finished that superb cross Rojo delivered I believe somewhere between the 60-70th minutes, thereby adding to Rojo's case for notice.

We've had Lee Young Pyo and Benoit doing cruyff turns for almost a decade...

Not to mention, it was a fucking brilliant, and effective clearance anyways. Looked good so far, gets forward well, big and strong, quite quick. Being able to play LB as well as CB without looking like utter dogshit unlike Jan is a plus.

Surely its a win-win situation. If we signed him we get a top-quality centre-back as well as an international quality Left Back all in one purchase.

Another chance to watch him today as he plays LB again for Argentina. Also another opportunity to watch Garay and die a little inside.
