Think there are better and cheaper players out there.

Not worth €20m, absolutely no way! Seriously, some of the money these clubs are spending is a joke. So wasteful and cannot be sustained.

Happy we are working hard not to pay over the odds, the market is a joke.

Hopefully they get him. He was doing okay at the World Cup but for that money well overrated and always near a red card.

Liked the look of him at the WC - no way we're getting him... but check this out regarding 3rd party ownership:

Having to pay 75% of any declined bid seems really dodgy to me....

...have also confirmed that Spartak are owed 20% of any fee received for Rojo above £4m.

No wonder why players from Primeira Liga are so darn expensive/over priced. Very clever business plot though, and so many clubs outside of Portugal "happily" takes the bite.

Man U don't seem to have as much trouble with third party ownership issues as we do

That's because Woodward apparently has no clue how to actually negotiate ("What do you want for player A?" Gets answer. "deal."). Also, let's not act like we aren't operating under different financial situations.

They also had the luck of being able to throw Nani in the deal. Something which we do not have the luxury of doing.

Nani is a very well known commodity in Portugal and is a former Sporting player. So the team was interested and Nani was interested in returning. Sporting are making almost no money off of the sale of Rojo, so acquiring Nani gave them the proper incentive.

This is the negotiation area we are lacking in our deal for Musacchio. If we had someone Villareal was interested in and that player was also interested in playing for Villareal I think we would be able to sweeten the pot in that way to make the deal go through.

Unfortunately we do not have that player.

Because they have the money so it doesn't matter how much they spend.

Surely you don't believe that. They can't spunk it on any player willy-nilly. That would be stupid. Although them constantly being linked with di Maria might make you right!
