Rojo and Richards in, Dawson, Vlad, Rose and Naughton out. Prob about the same £ in and out and we have 4 CBs, 3 who can cover full back, two first team full backs and Fryers and Fredericks around the squad. Easy

Rojo would be a superb signing. After X amount of yours of having shite left backs, we'll have two. And one of whom is equally adept in the centre. Another area we need numbers.

Probably get him for about 10m and he'd cover two of our weakest areas, in terms of depth, on paper. Likewise Umtiti. Why sign an average backup LB/CB when you can sign a very good one who can play both? Cheaper and more quality.

Any good itk on him apart from the Saints links?

Looks like he's going to Southampton. Don't understand why we haven't got him- £12million apparently!!!

Interesting info, he's been mentioned as a fall back option for us. I guess the issue could be he plays the same position as Jan & we're looking for a partner for Jan. I know injuries and 4 competitions etc but it could be tricky to keep everyone happy.
If we were interested we would have to tread very carefully with our already messy situation with saints.

We should just buy him, particularly at that quoted price. He's more of an important purchase than JR and MS anyway.

Because 4 LBs aren't enough?
One LB, one poor LB who many of us want to see the back of, one LB back from loan who is clearly not part of our plans, one pretty shaky youth LB who may be converted to CB, and one top-class CB who can cover LB but seems to resent it.

Ok, but you still don't buy two £10m+ LBs at the same time.

Personally I'm happy with Fryers as Davies' back-up.

No. He's a LB who gets used a CB sometimes when there are injuries because he's fairly tall. LB is definitely his preferred position

Actually, since he joined Sporting CP (2012) he played always as cb!!! (only a game or two as LB to cover injuries and suspensions). By the way, according to the portuguese press there exists an agreement between Sporting and the fund that owns 75% of the economic rights of the player that forces Sporting to accept bids above 12M£...
