Any ideas where this man is? Not involved with post season tour so is he on international duty or just playing u23?

He was in and around the squad for several weeks and then disappeared

Seems to have been injured just about the whole of the season.
Really cannot see that much in him, wants a bigger contract, playing time but (unfortunately) seems to pick up a few injuries.
As a young player he may want game time but moving on so young could hamper his future.

I think we need to be careful before we judge based on his injury record. Steven Gerrard was made of matchsticks until he was about 23 and gained some strength. It could be that he is on the way out, has had a bad attitude or that he's a bit fragile (being tricky he's bound to get more kicks than other players) he's also at an age where the level of physical development of players varies hugely and he is on the small side. The club might also be protecting him ore and perhaps where a player like Dembele is needed for the first he, he plays through the pain, but someone like Edwards doesn't need to do that so will be rested more.

I dunno, lots of thoughts about it, but it's unhelpful to speculate really... difficult not to do, but until we have some real answers, who can tell? I hope he stays and he makes it, but compare him to someone like Harry Kane; Edwards, has never shown the commitment to the club, he's more of a career footballer who will go wherever he thinks will move his career forwards. Some of those types make bad decisions and get lost at Chelsea, some make good decisions and still don't make it (whether with a club like Spurs or even by moving down a division) and some get the breaks at the right moment and have the right attitude and the whole thing just takes off. We all have our hopes and he looks an amazing prospect, but I think back to Terry Dixon, 'the new Wayne Rooney' and we had similar expectations for him. Patience is the key here. No one really expected Kane to be the striker he is now 4 or 5 years ago, so it could be someone completely unexpected to be the next one to make it through. (reminds me of Lee Barnard, he scored so many in the ressies, I though he was the big hope, but just couldn't do it at a higher level).

He's 18. I think we should calm down little bit about this boy and let him develop. Poch and staff were right about all of our youngsters so far so just calm down.

really? that little cameo he had in the cup, against gillingham? you can tell he has something special about him, way he dropped his shouder turn of pace and then 25 yard bullet that keepr did well to save?

This.

Maybe because of his natural ability people expected him to make more appearances but he clearly isn't ready, certainly not physically anyway.

He's in good hands with Pochettino but he needs to remain level headed and work hard at making the step up.

I thought the rumour was that he'd refused to train

Apparently his dad is a massive Chelsea or Man U supporter can't remember which! (has the crest tatoo)

He's an 18 year old kid, who has been with us since the age of 8 and as far as I'm know we have been his only club. How are you able to surmise that he is a 'career' footballer, based on those facts?

It has long been discussed that he's a more withdrawn character than the other lads. There was the contract issue that was alluded to last year and he is very non-committal in terms of discussing the club and if you ever see his social media stuff, he is known to be supportive of lads his age, but never posts anything pro Spurs (he posts himself in a Spurs shirt, but never with so much as a COYS in there). So, to me he comes across as someone who will do what is best for himself, whether that is staying somewhere for a decade or moving every 3 years. I'd say someone like Deli Alli or Daniel Sturridge would also fall into that category. I'm not criticising it, nor can one prove what anyone's intentions are without being inside their head. I just feel that's the way he comes across.

Just an opinion buddy, I hope he is a huge Spurs fan and wants to stay forever, but it I just can't see it. Better to be realistic, no different to knowing Bale would leave one day (whilst hoping it wouldn't happen!), other than the stages of their career and the proven quality of each

Really hope this kid stays injury free and makes some first team appearances this season.

He obviously has some physical development to come, but in terms of his style he is exactly the sort of player that we are missing.

He'd have scored about seven versus the Dortmund first team on Wednesday.

Still looks far too slight for regular first team football for me. If you look at a lot of that play against Dortmund he is able to receive the ball with his back to play and then turn, and he simply won't get that time before being twatted in the big leagues.

Would love to see him get some cup minutes though as he's only ever going to learn by playing at a higher level, and then I'd suggest he needs a loan in January.

Yeah I agree he'd get battered by most PL teams, but it couldn't hurt to give him the odd few minutes when the game is won. Last year at WHL would have been the perfect opportunity as we were often coasting in the last half an hour of game ( never thought I'd say that after a lifetime of supporting Spurs).

I reckon he'll be on the bench, at the very least, during the league cup next week. Hopefully he'll get a start and can impress
