Norwich have 3 games in 6 days. The manager said he will have to rotate his squad. I think it would be fair to say if Edwards doesn’t get on bench tonight then it’s highly unlikely he’s going to rest of season.

Is he back from injury?

I really want to see him given more chances with us. It's one thing for a young player to fade away based on several underwhelming performances, but if it happens without ever really giving him a chance then it would feel like a massive case of "what if?".

Not made it on to the Norwich bench for tonight's match against Wolves. I wonder if he will play for their u18 / u23 teams?

All a bit pointless this. Probably doing his confidence more harm than good. Saying that, he might not be fully fit if just back from injury.

Not in squad. Beyond a joke now. Terminate the loan waste of time for everyone.
How would you know?

I would imagine part of any loan process is learning to overcome adversity. We don't know how fit he is - but we do know that its in his best interest to get fit, and fight his way into Norwich's plans - they certainly are not going to hand him the spot, and I doubt we want them to simply hand Edwards a spot.

What purpose would bringing him back to his comfort zone serve?
Also the fact I'm not sure we have the power to just 'terminate the loan'.

One of the things that is starting to stand out about Edwards is his ability to stay fit - not a knock on him, per se, but it feeds into the narrative that Poch did not feel he was physically ready to handle more senior matches. Seems like every time we had a cup match, Edwards was injured. Now that he is on loan at Norwich, he has taken a while to recover.

Might just be that he needs to get stronger before he is really ready to challenge at the senior level - a pretty typical concern for all youth players.

I think this is where Poch's initial approach was good - bring promising young players into the 1st team fold so they could train and play at a higher level. Unfortunately since Winks none of them seem to have either shown him they can make the step up consistently (KWP's debut aside) either through hard work, talent or a bit of both.

It's the hardest transition to make clearly and we can't expect all of them to do it quickly or easily but i get the impression that following Winks, we expected more to be flowing through the ranks to some extent, when it didn't happen we had to rethink the strategy and move some out on loan so they could actually test themselves.

I think it also depends on openings within squad. Now, we have basically a 2 deep squad with PL proven players. There are less opportunities for youth because the others need game time to stay sharp. Now the youth are filling holes but are having to push someone that has been playing out of place which is a tougher task.
