Doesn’t seem like he’s got it in him. Shame as the talent is there. Will be playing in Mexico with Ravel Morrison in a couple of seasons if he doesn’t sort himself out.

I'd love to know what he's doing wrong in training. The generic he's got to work harder thing will be said now, but what is it precisely he's not doing to same level as others. His technical ability is unquestionable so what, if he runs about like a headless chicken in training he'd get his shot? Does he need to focus and work harder on building up core strength? I'd love to see some precise ITK that isn't just he's gotta knuckle down, graft, realise he's got to work harder yada yada yada

He's still a kid. It's all about how he overcomes these challenges. All about how much he really wants it. He's still got every chance.

He was never going to give him mins over players like hoolihan when the results don’t really matter now. Edwards probably knew this.

Sometimes people take more time to mature, it's just how life goes.

No matter how many people tell you something early in life, there's nothing quite like learning the hard way by yourself and through your own experiences.

We need to hang on to him and be patient with him. He will realise in time that he needs to get his head down, let's just hope that realisation occurs with us and not for another club.

I wonder if the MLS would help or hinder in his development? Walkes seemed pretty upbeat on his loan to Atlanta.
MLS would be tough for a number of reasons - being that far from home is probably not what he is looking for right now, and trying to fit into a squad in mid-season is difficult - might end up in the same situation where he can't get in a settled side.

If we are to find the right manager at his age it needs to be someone who will give him space and allow mistakes, not a disciplinarian like Farke.

I'm sure there's a few Championship managers who would fit the bill. Warburton at Brentford a few years ago would have been perfect for him.

I think we should be more clever with loans. Why for example can't we pay the loaning club if Edwards plays a certain amount of games etc.? Encourages them to work with him and give him game time rather than trust in the permanent squad players.

All is not lost. Remember the likes of Harry, Mason, Townsend, had loads of loans that didn’t work out. It’s just the way it can go. Get your head down, sonny, and graft for it.
Yep Harry's loan to Norwich didn't work out well either.

You get some freak of natures like Romario, Ronaldinho and Denilson once in a while but generally all the talent in the world is not gonna save you if you have attitude issues.

Especially in a club managed by the legendary Poch. Its a team game and team cohesiveness outshines talent every single day.

I think Poch has learnt his lessons of overhyping unproven youngsters

Agreed, we have some extremely talented youth players in our setup but Poch must be cautious about making those kind of comparisons on them. I think Troy Parrott could be an exceptional talent for us in a few years but he is already being hailed as "The Next Robbie Keane" he's only 16. I think the summer tour could be a massive opportunity for Edwards as many of our regulars may not feature as much due to the World Cup.

When you see players with less ability constantly being played ahead of you it is frustrating no matter what level you play or what age you are. He obviously went to Norwich to get game time and wasn't given that opportunity. Next season he needs a loan where he will be given a fair chance and sufficient game time to impress and improve. Very short sighted of Farke as he could have built the foundations for another loan next season for Edwards as he clearly has the talent, just needs the opportunity imo.
