Dave Kitson giving us the inside scoop ? In all seriousness though his books are very good

It’s the holiday one I’m reading. The chapter on bonuses is very interesting reading. Rose and Alderweireld would have been losing a fortune whilst out injured.

wirE I have to disagree I do not think he has "confidence and huge balls" but he does have the confidence but not the balls to knuckle down and show the correct commitment of course sometimes it stimulates a post if you get differing opinions

Careful. That's like the bat signal for the Youth Thread lynch mob who believe that only Pochettino is to blame when a kid doesn't make it.

This silly narrative about the youth thread posters, again?

Less a silly narrative, more a non-fiction narrative.

Yes, but my half an hour is almost up.

If that's the one thing you've elected to define the youth posters and their countless contributions to the SC forum then not much else for us to discuss.

EDIT: As you were reaching for funny ratings in your initial post, I've reversed my spam rating for you. You're doing great! (y)

Season loan on the continent away from his mates would be ideal... Somewhere like Holland, Germany or even Portugal

I wish my boss would sell me to somewhere in Amsterdam. Anywhere but a knocking shop will do.

Leverkusen in for him

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/foot...rcus-edwards-bayer-leverkusen-permanent-deal/

TOTTENHAM starlet Marcus Edwards is wanted by Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

The German club want the highly-rated teenager on a permanent basis, believing he could follow Jadon Sancho by making his mark in the league after quitting England.

SunSport understands Leverkusen have made contact with Spurs to begin talks over a fee for the youngster, who until an ankle operation soon after his debut had been regarded as one of the country's best young talents.

The German club fear they are about to lose at least one of their two much-wanted wide men Leon Bailey or Julian Brandt before the transfer window closes.

And they have highlighted Edwards as the ideal player to come in should either be sold.

Chelsea have shown an interest in signing Bailey this month, while Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is undertsood to be keen on Brandt.

Sweetener for Bailey please ?

Edit: as soon as I posted this I read it again and laughed - who am I kidding, no way will we pay what’s necessary in order to get Bailey...

Whilst of course you are right, this could be the 1 in 1 out from the latest ITK.

Like you said though, we won’t pay the money but it’s at least worth an outside punt.

So sad that we can't seem to bring Edwards through.

Have to assume he doesn’t have any desire to be here.

I don't think the problem is that we can't bring him through.

The problem seems to be that he won't do what's needed to give himself the best opportunity of coming through.

If he's got the attitude it appears he has, it would seem unlikely he'd go to Germany where it would be quite clear things wouldn't be given on a plate, new culture to engage with etc.

If we are looking at a permanent move away, then that's what i'd presume as well - he's fed up here and wants out.

Such a shame really given his potential. Without falling into the trap of saying he's amazing whilst having barely watched him play at a competitive level - he's been consistently touted as a standout talent at his age group and even slightly older.

I can't see that we'd have treated such talent unfairly but perhaps he needed a little more of an opportunity to step up with us - if he wasn't ready and it went badly, it may have served as an eye opener for him and encouraged him to keep working.

The fact that we have had such great success introducing 17 year old Olly Skipp to the first team squad on this latest tour and Pochettino praising his hard work, integration, and professionalism gives you all the answers you want. The good of the team comes first, second and third in Pochettinos philosophy. Such a shame because the kid is truly brilliant occasionally. I hope he gets a move that sorts him out.

Equally, that could be the making of him.

Agreed - Optimistically a loan would be good but i suppose him moving on with a generous sell-on if he comes good won't be so bad.

Perhaps a foreign move would work out well, change in culture, different type of team and style may end up being just the sorts of changes he needs. Especially if as indicated he's a bit introverted, may help him out of his shell a bit.
