And just imagine when we publish our accounts next year and we can point to a healthy profit and get to say; "you see that 100 million profit? 16 of those are due to us choosing Edwards over Johnson".

This is true but also misleading. If Edwards goes anywhere for a fee of £50m the net result is no difference between signing Johnson or edwards. Scenario 1) we sign edwards for £33m scenario 2) we sign Johnson for £50m and receive £17m from the edwards sale. It’s only if Edwards wouldn’t be sold otherwise that it becomes a real discount
