Mariano Diaz continues to defoliate the margarita. And is that, is one of the most beloved players in Europe. Despite his lack of participation this season at Real Madrid, where he has played only 14 games, his five goals prove that he is a fully reliable forward facing the goal . For this reason, Spanish and English football do not stop knocking at your door to see what the situation is. Although Catalan has preference: Tottenham

The team trained by Pochettino is one of those who have asked for the scorer and is certainly the best positioned at the moment to be able to get their services facing the next season. The current runner-up of the Premier League will play the Ch[ampions next year and is very interested in getting Mariano's services.

Wears the number 18 and has poor offside awareness. Reminds me of someone but can't quite put my finger on it!:sneaky:

Language corner:

Not be confused with desecrating a Margherita (for which I got barred from my local Italian restaurant), deflowering a Marguerite (for which I got barred from my local French restaurant) or downing a Margarita (which played a part in both of the above incidents), defoliating a margarita means literally to pull the petals off a daisy as part of the 'she loves me, she loves me not' spiel.

The Spanish use this phrase figuratively to mean that someone is wavering.

So Diaz continues to waver i.e. he doesn't know what to do.

Which, frankly, is no more informative than 'defoliating the margarita'.

Hmm. Wish I hadn't bothered now...

Looking at his Youtube videos, looks to have very good heading ability. He has good leap & heads strongly - but more importantly with right technique to make it difficult for GK.

His stat certainly looks very good & similar to Soldado & Morata's early RM careers.

But not sure, if we would be interested in him

Isn't there a buy back clause? Can't imagine for one minute levy would even consider that !

I think we have learnt our lesson from jansson, don't see us bringing in an inexperienced player from abroad.

Is a buy back clause really that bad? You'd assume Levy wouldn't allow it to be just pennies. And what are the odds that Real would buy the guy back after just a season?

Heck. Maybe it could start as a loan if we actually go for the guy.

Why do Janssen's travails suggest we have to avoid the rest of the world looking for talented young attackers? That's a nonsensical idea - oh, Vinnie didn't work - let's close the drawbridge and hard Brexit on players.

http://sportwitness.co.uk/daniel-levy-likely-stop-make-believe-tottenham-transfer-becoming-reality/

It’s only June 20th, and already the transfer rumour mill is a bit of a mess.

Take Mariano Diaz and Tottenham.

At around lunchtime on Tuesday, HITC published an article titled ‘Report: Real Madrid striker Mariano Diaz wants Tottenham Hotspur move’.

It was based on claims made by the Real Madrid section of OK Diario, not the most reliable of places. However, even stranger, it was based on a report a month old.

Whatever the reasons for it being rolled out again, and it’s almost certainly got more to do with Tottenham transfer stories being thin on the ground than a genuine hunch, it’s spread.

The Daily Mirror quickly picked it up for their transfer blog, without crediting anyone, saying ‘Mauricio Pochettino is mulling over a move for Real Madrid striker Mariano Diaz.’

From there, other websites such as ReadTottenham picked it up and credited the claim to The Mirror.

And a transfer rumour is born. Just like Adrien Silva, it won’t go away now, regardless of it being based on practically nothing, and old nothing at that.

It’ll likely be picked up in Spain, maybe Italy, and Mariano will quite possibly be a name Tottenham fans are used to soon.

There is an actual Mariano update in Spain on Tuesday, and that’s Marca saying Real Madrid want €15m, and are quite keen on a repurchase option. Daniel Levy is hardly likely to agree to such a clause, which likely means this piece of make-believe is unlikely to become reality.

Reminds me of Adam Traore, but with better technique. Loads of pace, direct and a bit wild. I think he will end up at a Mid tier Spanish team.
