Wrong.

Rodgers isn't fussed on getting him so you can knock that made up shite on the head straight away. He has faith in his nan-management skills as all top Managers do or they wouldnt be top Managers. This signing is transfer committee and owner led it appears. They think its perfect moneyball and a gamble worth taking due to how cheap he is.

I think its rather amusing that some of you here were, for the first 15 pages when Spurs we're in with a shout, bigging him up and downplaying his issues, saying what a bargain he'd be for that price etc etc.

Then, suddenly, on page 15/16 when it becomes clear Spurs are out and he's LFC bound, he's a wanker who is over-rated and has mental issues that nobody in football can help him with at all (After Suarez BR and Dr Steve Peters have as good a chance as anyone IF Mario CAN be rehabilitated in any way).

I did actually have some hypocritical posts to include here from certain people from before and after he signs for LFC but I'm too lazy to bother quoting them all and not that much of an arse believe it or not.

I can put up with people hating LFC and slagging us off etc, all normal rival fan shite, BUT I can't abide some of the fickle, two-faced, hypocrisy present throughout this thread. Its so brazen its embarrassing frankly.

(Fair play and my total respect to the posters who stood by their views and maintained he's shite and/or a liability throughout this thread even when it seemed Spurs were interested and not just when it was clear he was signing for LFC).

How do you feel about this signing Toela ?

What are you on about??? There are plenty of people on here who have said that it's a great signing for the price and he's a fantastic striker.

In fact the majority have the opinion that I've just written.

I heard a story this was years a go when he was at city Spurs were looking to sign him Broomfield went to Milan (I think it was) to watch a youth game, Mario got carded for (I think a rediculas challenge ) had a massive tantrum sat in the middle of the pitch in the end he had to be carried off so they could continue the game.

So of course we didn't not sign him.

No idea if he will be a good or a bad signing.

Don't think many people are saying he's a bad striker just that he's a loose cannon, that's all. Based on his previous actions, this is an entirely understandable opinion.

There were more than plenty on here that didn't want him when we were linked, including myself, although I do accept that he's a talented player.

He does possess some real quality but he's unpredictable, volatile and self obsessed.

I don't know if those risks, and the risk it carries for the team and Club as a whole, are outweighed by his talent.

I'd say probably not, and therefore on the face of it whilst it looks like excellent business it could just as easily blow up in the Club's face.

Liverpool's previous trouble with Suarez, which forced their hand to sell in the end as well, and I'm a bit surprised they've gone for him.

I think he's a real steal for the dippers. Pun intended.

I think he'll feel valued there and that'll help him. You only have to look to the way Suarez was defended to see that. He's a hell of an athlete, is technically sound and when in the mood, can be unplayable. I think he'll fit in with the scousers. I'd have taken him at Spurs, but would have felt less confident of the fit.

It'll also be interesting to see how the media portrays him over the coming months.

Maybe Rodgers believes after Suarez he can control Mario, I wonder if last years success could go to Rodgers head.

How are you going to fit Henderson, Gerrard, Sterling, Coutinho, Lallana, Markovic, Sturridge and Balotelli in the same side?
It's Brendan Rodgers we are talking about here mate, the fucking Jedi coach. #SharkFacedC@&T

This seems like you're saying Suarez was a bad buy due to his discipline problems, when in fact it was those problems that allowed them to buy him for a relatively modest price – £24m iirc – and make a strong profit on him. That's not even taking into account the blistering form he brought them and his role in them almost winning the league.

Dismissing Balotelli purely based on his discipline problems is silly! And him coming for a relatively cheap £16m represents a low risk gamble in my eyes. But thems just my onions anyways

No that's not why Suarez was only worth 24 million. Its because he was unproven outside the Dutch League.

I never doubted Suarez's remarkable quality, how the hell you're arriving to that conclusion is beyond me. I'm simply saying I thought they would swerve controversial characters for a while given the ordeal with Suarez. That doesn't mean they regret buying him - obviously, he was sensational for them and they made a big profit on him but he's also one in a million.

Just in time to face us, belting

Good thing though. Would rather face them now than in two months time when they've clicked more with him in the side.

Be interesting to see if he starts against us or is on the bench.

laughable if he's that world class, especially being a striker, that he can be obtained for £16m, only £5m more than foolham paid for McCormack lol. prob on 150K+ a week too.

has talent but is an utter unbalanced wanker, should fit in perfectly up there with the rest of those ****s. (y)

he clearly doesn't realise they qualified for it last season :ROFLMAO:

How is it a low risk gamble when Balotelli has failed at/been forced out of all his previous clubs? Sure, it's a good price if it works out but it's not low risk.

Very different characters Suarez and Ballotelli though. The former always gave 100% on the pitch (sometimes taking that commitment too far!!!) and seemed to keep fairly quiet off the pitch. The latter is an extremely talented mentalist who's as liable to strop around for 90 mins as he is to win a game.

Be interesting to know what Sturridge makes of it all!
