Without investing too much hope in this its worth considering a few plus points.
He isn't a regular at Bayern and won't be there much longer anyway.
He isn't a German regular and is no doubt looking for the best option to get him playing his best football.
Pochottino has a high reputation and the player will definitely see him as a coach who will improve him.
We are building a good young squad with ambitions to challenge over the next decade.
Of course he may feel the same about Liverpool but they'll pay more and if we are honest, he would be right.

Would fit perfectly in our dressing room, I welcome him.

I actually think there's a fair chance Mario might come.

Since the negotiation for janssen takes so long, I guess it will take forever to get a great player like gotze

Eriksen , gotze , lamela - all these 3 are very similar kind of players ... If we sell chadli I would rather we go for someone like draxler - A pure goalscoring wing forward ... But still if we really sign Gotze then it would be interesting to see how POCH deployed gotze , eriksen and lamela behind kane !!

Been reported that Wolfsburg want at least £40m, so I can't see us fronting up that kind of cash.

Well if this rumour has confirmed one thing to me this morning, god some fans underestimate this clubs pulling power and stature. If we wanted Gotze, we could get him. He is the exact type of player we should be after. We have the squad, the ambition, the facilities, the manager, the fans, the competition etc.

Obviously Kiopp is a major draw to the errant son, so to speak. But then again, maybe he wants to strike out somewhere new, and Liverpool are incredibly stacked for AMs, even more so than us.

A lot of these transfers is how you woo the player, and more importantly the agent - as we're seeing with United and how Mourinho is so tight with the likes of Mendes and Raiola.

liverpool are stacked at AM, but if klopp wants him, he will know hes at the top of the pile. firminho is playing further up, mane is by the flanks, his true competition is coutinho who is inconsistent. klopp is the man who turned him into a superstar so in his mind there will be no doubt that he will flourish under his system again.

secondly, liverpool pays a hell lot more than us, money talks.

and lastly i agree that agents plays a huge part, but only if you are choosing ,lets say between 2 clubs where you are unfamiliar with.

if one of the choices is a club where the manager knew you for years, groomed up into the star you are today, able to just whatsapp you directly, i dont see how agents can play a bigger influence than that. in the end you play for the manager, not the agent.

from what i see, liverpool stands a far higher chance because

1. they pay more
2. hes gonna work with a manager that brought him to his best, so hes confident that klopp has the ability to get him back to his best

the only few reason that i can think of where we have a slightly bigger advantage is

1. we seem to know what we are doing
2. location

anything else is just down to how poch pitches to him because theres no chance we will pay him more than pool. i would love to have him but we gotta be objective. liverpool is indeed the better choice from his pov

like i said if we are gonna blow that cash on him, i'm pretty sure isco or draxler wouldnt be that far off as well

But not the money, hard to see him take a wage cut of around £40k a week just to join us, I'm sure there's quite a few other teams nowadays that will happily pay him that much more money even if they're not in the CL.

We won't pay his wages so it won't happen. Think it's more than likely he'll end up back at Dortmund.

I can't see BVB paying 130k per week, plus London is a big draw for players and we're a club massively on the up, unbelievable young squad, great manager, new stadium on the way, champions League...if Poch wants him.... No reason why it can't happen!(y)
