Nice piece, and just goes to show that players can be developed given the vision of a good mananger and time.

Love BigMartinJol- the story of him flogging dodgy fila track suits to his Coventry team mates in the 80s is just brilliant. And his brothers are called Dick and Cock.

Top bloke and a crucial part of our Renaissance, but this made me laugh.

'Then he played on the wing. Can you imagine him playing on the right wing, a left-footer on the right?'

If the concept of inverted wingers apparently baffles him then his decline as a manager after leaving Spurs starts to make a little more sense.

I read an article a while back discussing the decline of Dutch football and one thing it mentioned was that the football hadn't adapted and it gave the example because the Dutch wouldn't accept left footers playing on the right wing. So I don't think it's just Jol, But Dutch football thinking on the whole.

I'm frankly rather stunned to see this. The Dutch have had top inverted wingers for years now, and now their league is simply riddled with them. Almost have to look harder to find a traditional one. I wonder if this is from a few years back?

He is a great man.He has always shown massive love for the club and dignity in the way in which he was sacked. He deserved better.

It was a while ago I can't say I did any due diligence to check myself. Are you sure the players aren't coming over from Belgium?

The other example it gave was Defenders not being encouraged to lift weights.

Lovely man and though we two timed and jilted him
he still keeps our photo in his wallet.
I think all the good things
of the modern era started with him.

I don't need to say this because everybody knows that since the diabolical appointment of Santini, he steadied the ship and started us on the incredible journey. He showed us what was possible and the way he was treated when he left was heart breaking. I wrote a blog on the 606 forum when it happened.

Never been as upset as I was on that day. I felt we dropped in class that day, and it took me a while to fall back in love with the club.

It was great he didn't hold grudges and attended the final game at the lane.

Show's the class of the man.

I hope he heard us singing his song on Sunday.

"He's got no hair, but we don't care..."
