I haven't read that, although I have read comments from Jol undermining Comolli....

Example ?

I've got no hard feelings towards him, but I personally feel it's a bit classless if he starts slagging off his past employers.

But it's OK for Levy to make allegations that Jol had lost the confidence of the players in order to weasel out of a tight spot .

Jol has the right to reply , but too much class to exercise it .

Who does this even relate to? Who are the boards "mates" who are slating Jol, and telling lies about him? Can you clarify this part of your analogy for me...

For one, Ray, remember i'm a habitual stoner, so my analogies come from a strange place

Badly worded, i agree - i was referring to the press statements that were "allegedly" leaked to the press in way that it could only have come from someone at a high level, or at least with insanely good contacts at a high level, at the club.

Have the board been insulting to Jol? I haven't read that, although I have read comments from Jol undermining Comolli. So really in your analogy, after getting dumped by his girl the bloke then goes around telling everyone she was shit in bed.

I'm confused now

In my opinion, yeah, the club have been insulting to Jol in the fact there where any other club that was interested in seeing how the land lies, in respect to a possible future manager, should that need arise, would do it discreetly and it not turn into the media circus it became.

Maybe it couldn't be avoided, maybe it wasn't as reservoir dogs a meeting as it was made out to be and a lone journo did just happen to stumble across the story, but i find that really hard to believe.

Actually, I'm gonna stop there. This is just silly, and I haven't got the time for this.
you're right - i'm trying to find a decent stream at the mo...

Jol was a good manager. He did well to get us to 5th in the league, and he's a top bloke, but more was expected of him so he got replaced by someone better.

I've got no hard feelings towards him, but I personally feel it's a bit classless if he starts slagging off his past employers.

I also think it's a bit sad that people on this board will spread lies and bullshit just to make Jol look better, and the board look worse. I don't understand it myself.
I'm not really spreading lies and bullshit, i'm just fanning the flames of popular opinion - i love the cheap pop

And nicdic, yes I do agree with you.
Nic and Shady, sittin in a tree...

so far I have only read the intro which is a first person account from jol on the end of his time at the club...denied he knew anything about the sack until after the Getafe game etc, stuff we've heard before...also moans a lot that people and the press criticised his tactics and his substitutions...questioned why everyone focussed on his tactics in the big games that went wrong last season (arsenal and chelsea) and not on all the games where he got it right...not surprised he was defending himself, but he didn't seem to take much responsibility for the fact the club were near the bottom of the league when he left, which by anyone's standards wasn't good enough.

I shouldn't think that there'll be much controversial in the whole book, I'm sure leading journos will have already read it and if there was any dynamite in there it would have already been all over the back pages.

Bottom line is Jol wants a job and bad mouthing his former employers in a book is not going to encourage too many chairman to take him on.

I think the book is a bad idea and he should just move onto the next phase of his career.

It has been nice to have the clubs politics off of the back pages for the last couple of months and have the clubs staff getting on with trying to improve the club rather than posturing and playing internal politics with the media.

Jol is only hurting the people he claims to love (the fans) if we were to be dragged all over the back pages about Jol again.
