Don't recall BMJ calling the fans idiots, maybe thats why there weren't any Redknapp songs on Sunday

How petty..

Harry only called the idiots who acted like idiots on the radio...the kind of fans that give us a bad name moaning and fucking groaning...i would have called them alot worse things then that..

What some fans are confusing is that just because we loved Jol it doesn't mean we must hold it against a manager who is giving us such wonderful results and mainly wonderful attacking football.

This is getting boring and putting me off Jol a little,a man i have affection for, but all this OTT love for him is getting out of hand ...

Is he not referring to the FA Cup game at the Bridge when we were 3-1 up and he took off our two best outlets in Berbatov and Lennon, brought on an extra defender and totally invited them on to us and of course the inevitable happened?

Berbatov had strained his groin and Lennon was out on his feet. Both had ceased to be effective and this had already invited them on to us. The subs weren't good enough to change this, but the tide had already turned against us. It wasn't the substitutions that lost us that game, it was Defoe bottling a header from 1 yard out at 3-1 which would have killed the game off.

There were, immediately after the Martin Jol loves me it went straight into Harry Redknapps blue & white army, absolutely meant to make the point that Harry is our manager now.
Martin Jol was a great favourite among the fans and as far as I'm concerned he got us into the CL but for the whole team going down with dysentery on the last day and Richard Scudamore handing it to the arsenal, but we've moved on now.

Jol = Europa League. Very exciting when we first made it there but we now consider it beneath us and rightly so.

Redknapp = Champions League. High stakes, difficult to get to grips with and involves a lot of ego, but it would be awful to let it go!

Accept that both are part of our recent History and did a reasonable job with Harry building on MJ's achievements...

you have to look at both managers achievements and set them against the managers before.Martin Jol got us back into Europe after a long break and Harry Redknapp got us into the Champions league.

I will remember both fondly after their time ...

for me jol laid the foundations for our progression which ramos nearly destroyed and along cam harry to recover and build.

i have no problem people singing his name - robinson got more support from us this season and last season than the blackburn fans gave him.

I think Jol put us the path to where we are now, but I don't think he could have taken us to the next level like Harry has.

I will always love Martin Jol, he started us playing some great football and them 5th place finishes are the reason I am now a season ticket holder, have been ever since!

Much as I love the guy, wouldn't want him back, our next manager either needs to be someone top, top class (Ancelotti) or someone younger who's proven success elsewhere. Jol unfortunatly is neither, wish him well at Fulham though.

It's up there on a par with singing for Jermain Defoe when he played for Pompey as Darren Bent was scoring a hat trick for us. Or singing 'super Pav' when Crouch scored a hat trick for us against Young Boys.

I've been to Fulham away every year for the last 4 years (even twice last year including FA Cup) but it was the sole reason I didn't go this year.

I loved Martin Jol when he was our manager, but he's not anymore. I wouldn't expect us to sing for George Graham if he came out of nowhere and started managing again, and he won a trophy for us.

It's just disrespectful, especially when Harry wasn't there for medical reasons.

Absurdly small minded and simplistic, this. By this same logic, it would be "disgusting" to cheer a returning Ledley if he was released next season and went to Fulham, because that would necessarily be undermining Kaboul or Caulker. Ridiculous.

And no I wouldn't want him back, But he is clearly a top man. Very gracious in defeat when they should've won, and very gracious indeed when he left given how poorly he was treated in the end. He had every right to absolutely lambast Levy, especially when it all went so horribly wrong with Ramos, but he didn't. He deserves a cheer. I certainly would have cheered had I been there.

If you were a chef, and this was a dish you'd cooked, it would be called sentimental/hyperbole/bollocks fusion cuisine.

Good one. Wit is clearly up their with intelligence and literacy as one of your strengths.

Another meaningless point... Maybe we have agree/disagree. Jol is History... Time to move onwards and upwards with 'Arry ....

It's not a matter of disagreement. There is no evidence whatsoever that he 'lost the dressing room'. On the contrary, players were openly supporting him in the media, and there were no stories of Ledley and Woody leading a delegation to Levy as there were with Juanque. And whilst I'm not in favour of singing his name (although a big cheer and a round of applause is fine) and don't think it would be a good idea for him to come back—not that there's very much chance of that—I'll correct inaccurate, half-baked bollocks.

Yes destructive Ramos under whom we won a trophy and smashed ar5ena1 and came from behind at Wembly to beat Chelsea in the process.

Evil Ramos, i spit on his feet for what he did to us!

And under whom we averaged less than a point a game for ten months. But I'm sure that being Carling Cup holders would have been a great comfort as we prepared to welcome Doncaster to the Lane.
